As a seasoned Dragon Quest fan with memories stretching back to the days of monochrome pixels and cassette tapes, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming release of Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake! The nostalgia factor alone is enough to make my heart flutter, but add in the promise of updated graphics, new gameplay elements, and a faithful recreation of the original’s old-school JRPG gameplay, and I’m positively giddy with anticipation.
The duration of the wait for “Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate” remains uncertain, but luckily, fans of Square Enix’s cherished RPG series have other exciting prospects to anticipate. Next month alone, the “Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake” is set to launch. In addition to displaying fresh gameplay footage and contrasting its appearance with the original version, the company has also shared an overview trailer that delves into details about the upcoming RPG’s narrative, combat mechanics, world design, and more.
In the realm of Dragon Quest, I find myself stepping into the shoes of a character with a rich legacy. As the offspring of Ortega, the valiant warrior from yesteryears who dared to challenge the archfiend Baramos, I’m tasked with carrying on his unfinished mission. It’s time to honor my father’s quest and bring the battle against Baramos to its rightful end.
In keeping with tradition, the remake of Dragon Quest 3, titled Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, will accurately recreate the classic JRPG gameplay style. This includes open-world exploration, diverse towns and dungeons to discover, turn-based battles against numerous monster types, and much more. The Vocations system is still in play, allowing you to assign your party members various classes, each possessing unique abilities. A fresh addition to this system is the Monster Wrangler vocation.
Check out the overview trailer below for more details on the game.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that on November 14th, I’ll be diving into the Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Moreover, mark your calendars for 2025 when we can revisit the adventures of Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD-2D Remakes!
