As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the success of the Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake is nothing short of spectacular! I remember playing the original version back in the day on my trusty old NES, and to see it come back with such a bang is truly heartwarming.
The classic video game series “Dragon Quest” has consistently performed strongly in Japan, and this trend continues with the recent release of the “Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake.” As reported by Famitsu for weekly hardware and physical sales data in Japan, “Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake” was the most popular game in the region last week. It even claimed the top two positions on the charts when it launched.
In terms of physical sales at launch, the Nintendo Switch version of the game leads with more than 641,000 copies sold, trailed by the PS5 version with over 180,000 units. Altogether, the game has become the biggest launch in Japan since last year’s “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom,” and it currently holds the title of the bestselling game of the year in Japan. Keep in mind that these figures do not include digital sales; therefore, it’s possible that “Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake” surpassed a million units sold in Japan immediately after its release.
In my gaming world, it’s me again, and I’ve got some updates on console sales! The Nintendo Switch is back on top in my region, shifting around 62,000 units this week. On the other hand, the PS5 sales took a bit of a dip compared to last week, with over 23,000 consoles sold (a significant decrease from the over 88,000 units moved last week).
