As a longtime fan of Pixar and the Inside Out series, I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming TV show, Dream Productions! Having grown up with Riley, Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust, and Anger, it’s heartening to know that we’ll be revisiting their world once again. The idea of exploring the creators of Riley’s dreams is not only fascinating but also promises a fresh perspective on an already beloved franchise.
After the incredible success of “Inside Out 2”, Pixar is diving back into the realm of Riley’s mind. Contrary to popular belief, this isn’t another installment in the Inside Out franchise yet, but instead, the creative minds behind those cherished films have crafted a fresh spinoff TV series that delves into another facet of Riley’s imagination.
As a die-hard fan, I’m excited to share that the upcoming series is named “Dream Productions.” This captivating storyline revolves around the dream weavers who craft new experiences for our beloved character, Riley, every night. Although we have to wait until December 11th for it to grace Disney+, Tuesday marked the unveiling of “Dream Productions”‘ first official trailer! Take a peek at the video above and get ready for an enchanting journey!
The animated series titled “Dream Productions” is set within the timeframe spanning between the original “Inside Out” movie and its upcoming sequel. Consequently, any fresh emotions that made their debut this summer won’t be present for the journey ahead. Nevertheless, Joy and the familiar cast members who have been part of the story since the initial release of “Inside Out” will continue to star in the show.
In the upcoming production of Dream Productions, we’ll see Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Kensington Tallman, Lewis Black, Tony Hale, and Liza Lapira reprising their roles. Joining them are fresh faces Paula Pell, Richard Ayoade, Maya Rudolph, and Ally Maki. The series is penned by Mike Jones, who also takes on directing duties, while Jaclyn Simon serves as the producer.
One of the upcoming TV shows on Disney+ from Pixar is Dream Productions. The other, set to premiere on February 19, 2025, is titled Win or Lose and focuses on a little league baseball team during a crucial game. This marks Pixar’s initial foray into television, with Disney+ announcing it since the service’s launch. Interestingly, while Dream Productions will be Pixar’s first show, Win or Lose is not too far behind in terms of release.
In September, Pete Docter, Pixar’s Chief Creative Officer, remarked that these two series truly highlight the creative brilliance of Pixar. He expressed enthusiasm about fans not having to wait too long for more engaging content from the universe of ‘Inside Out’. ‘Dream Productions’, by delving deeper into one of our favorite aspects from the initial film – the creation of Riley’s dreams, offers a wealth of humor and enjoyment. Additionally, ‘Win or Lose’ is considered a groundbreaking, pioneering series that truly embodies what I believe makes our studio exceptional: daring, innovative storytelling, side-splitting humor, and characters that resonate with us all.
