Drew Barrymore Opens Up About Her Shocking Plastic Surgery Decision at 17

Drew Barrymore is reflecting on going under the knife.

In a recent appearance on her talk show, the star from 50 First Dates spoke about the breast reduction surgery she had as a teenager, which she mentioned in relation to discussions on breast cancer screenings.

While discussing breast cancer with the OBGYN Dr. Kameelah Phillips, Drew, aged 50, inquired about a medical procedure she underwent when she was only 17 years old.

Drew wondered, ‘If I’ve had reductions, what about those who have undergone implants or enhancements? How do modifications to our physical selves factor into this overall process?’

Phillips underlined the significance of additional imaging techniques, such as ultrasounds, alongside regular mammograms, especially for individuals who have undergone cosmetic breast procedures. In response, Drew explained, “I always opt for both, a mammogram and an ultrasound.

She added, “I also know how fortunate and privileged that is.”

And Drew has detailed her previous decision to get her breasts resized.

In an interview with the New York Daily News back in 1998, six years post-reduction, Drew expressed her deep affection for her body as it currently is. She also shared a thought that she found it a bit strange how society often focuses on women’s breasts given men’s frequent gazing at them.

Besides challenging the traditional male perspective, the actress from The Wedding Singer openly shared that reducing her size made her feel more at ease and confident within herself.

She remarked that when something is particularly large, it makes one quite aware of themselves. The burden on your back increases, and whatever clothing you put on seems to accentuate a heavier appearance. It becomes an unpleasant experience.

As a devoted admirer of Drew, I can assure you that she’s not the type to alter her physical appearance cosmetically just for the sake of it. In fact, the star from Scream has openly shared her reasons for steering clear of plastic surgery in the past.

In 2023, Drew told People that she hasn’t taken any steps in that direction and plans to keep it that way for as long as possible, since her experience with plastic surgery is quite limited due to her concern about going too far. She expressed no criticism towards anyone making different choices, but she personally doesn’t envision herself opting for it.

She jokingly added, “I look forward to seeing what I look like as a leather bag in the future!”

The main character from “The Real Housewives of Dubai” shared details about her facelift, which she underwent in November 2023, and her subsequent healing process on various social media platforms.

She shared with TopMob News an exclusive insight about her experience: “I wanted others to understand the reality of undergoing this process – the visible signs like scars and wounds it leaves behind.” She continued, “Immediately after, I appeared as if I had been involved in a car accident where the vehicle prevailed. However, five days later, I was presentable again. By the tenth day, I was dining out comfortably.

The singer has said she has gotten Botox.

Previously on Bravo, this celebrity has been open about undergoing various cosmetic surgeries such as a nose job, breast augmentation, and experimenting with Botox and fillers. Now, she’s opted for CellSound’s contouring treatment to firm up her abdomen.

She shared with People magazine in an interview published on March 21st that she indeed has visible abdominal muscles. She explained, “I have lines on my stomach that haven’t been there since before I became pregnant. As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share my thoughts when the talk show host opened up about her experiences with Ozempic for weight loss. But let me tell you, it was nothing compared to how she felt about her 2021 facelift. In December 2023, she confessed that getting that procedure was the biggest mistake of her life! She put it straight: “I looked like Cyclops.” Quite a transformation, if I may say so myself.

As a lifestyle advisor, I can share that while I haven’t ventured into cosmetic procedures myself, there was a time in my past when I found myself deeply intrigued by facial injections. This fascination unfolded during a period where I was heavily into recreational marijuana use. In 2013, I confessed this unique phase to radio host Howard Stern, describing how I would visit a strip mall in Chicago for these treatments. People around me thought I was quite unconventional, but there I was, under the influence of pot and alcohol, driving to this strip mall regularly to get injected with various substances like Juvéderm. My judgment wasn’t exactly clear during that time, but it’s an experience I can’t help but look back on.

She went on to say, “Everything has been cleared out now. Just before I made the ‘Applause’ video, a friend who is a photographer expressed concern to me by saying, ‘Lady Gaga, I admire you deeply, but if you don’t cease injecting substances into your face, I might have no choice but to end your life.’

The Real Housewives of New York star got breast implants in 2005, but removed them in 2008.

It all belongs to her. Everything still remains hers.

2010 saw one of the stars from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” disclose that she underwent a rhinoplasty (nose job), a mastopexy (breast lift), and liposuction procedures.

“I’m very comfortable and confident in myself,” she told People. “I just wanted a tune up.”

In 2015, the reality TV personality referred to Dr. Lenny Hochstein as her “breast deity,” thanks to his work on her well-shaped breasts. It’s no secret that she’s been transparent about her other cosmetic enhancements, such as a tummy tuck and lip injections.

In an interview on ‘Today’ in 2013, she expressed her fascination with how popular lip augmentation has become, as she’s noticed numerous women opting for this procedure. She considers herself a trailblazer in this area, since she was one of the initial individuals to undergo it openly. Furthermore, she mentioned that her lips essentially paved the way for her career, as she had not previously had one before getting them done. If given another chance, she would choose to do it again.

Back in 2009, when she was only 23 years old, the famous actress from “Hills” went through a complete makeover, having as many as ten cosmetic surgeries done on the same day. This included Botox treatments, a reduction of her chin, a nose reshaping, and augmentation of her lips with fat injections, all part of the reality star’s transformation.

In his recently published memoir titled “If You Had Warned Me“, John candidly discussed his insecurities regarding his appearance that prompted him to undergo two rhinoplasty procedures. He penned, “That nose of mine… it’s always been a source of discomfort.”

He further revealed about the initial surgery, “My nose looked somewhat elongated, like Peter Pan’s or something,” and later opted for a second correction by the same plastic surgeon who worked on Michael Jackson during his downtime.

The singer recently revealed she got a facelift.

She shared, during the 5th annual Daytime Beauty Awards in Los Angeles on October 1st, that she’s a well-known pop star who usually keeps her face hidden from the public. But she doesn’t mince words about the truth. In her own words, she proudly admitted to having undergone an exceptional facelift by Dr. Ben Talei. She highly recommends him, as he does outstanding work, not just for celebrities like herself but for many others as well.
