As a long-time WWE fan with memories of the Attitude Era still fresh in my mind, I must say I am thoroughly enjoying this ongoing feud between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre. The Strap Match at WWE Bash in Berlin was an exciting spectacle that truly showcased their rivalry’s intensity.
CM Punk stated that he considers his encounters with Drew McIntyre to be concluded. In the recent event at WWE Bash in Berlin, The Second City Saint overcame the Scottish Warrior, making all four corners of the ring to clinch the Strap Match win. This triumph served as a retaliation for Punk’s loss against McIntyre during WWE SummerSlam earlier in August. Post-event, cameras caught up with Punk following the end of WWE Bash in Berlin, and he expressed his intent on chasing championship titles moving forward, rekindling his original WWE return objective that was postponed due to a seven-month triceps injury.
Drew McIntyre Isn’t Finished With CM Punk
Although the self-acclaimed greatest in the world might be preparing to depart, Ayr’s beloved native won’t allow it to happen.
Discussing matters with Drew McIntyre at Fanatics Fest before the WWE Bash in Berlin, he disclosed the conditions under which he plans to resolve his feud with CM Punk.
“He declared that he will continue his pursuit, and he intends to thwart my bid for the world championship title. I believe this is a reality as long as he remains in WWE. Consequently, our rivalry won’t end until one of us leaves the company. Ideally, not on the same brand, since I aspire to become the world champion and he has consistently hindered me from achieving that goal. Essentially, we will have to forcefully remove each other from the company somehow.”
Since McIntyre’s loss following his “exile” proclamation, it seems his resolve to banish Punk from WWE remains unwavering. Regardless of Punk focusing on the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, anticipate McIntyre to create disruptions, similar to how Punk has disrupted McIntyre’s title matches in recent months.
As a dedicated fan, it feels like every path is pointing towards another epic showdown between McIntyre and Punk at WWE Bad Blood next month. In the Attitude Era, Bad Blood was renowned for hosting Hell in a Cell matches, and with the event making a comeback this year, fans are expecting the return of that iconic steel structure. During the post-show press conference following WWE Survivor Series 2022, Paul “Triple H” Levesque shared that Hell in a Cell as a stipulation would only be used when feuds truly warrant it, not just because it’s a specific time of year.
WWE Monday Night Raw goes down tonight at 8 PM ET on USA Network.
