Dune: Awakening’s support for Steam Deck gets a major win ahead of the game’s launch in June

Recently, prior to the minor delay of Dune: Awakening, Funcom released a useful benchmarking tool for us to check its potential performance on our computers.

After testing the game “Dune: Awakening” on Steam Deck, everything seemed promising. However, the lingering question was about its anti-cheat system and how it might affect the experience.

Thankfully, it seems we’ve found a solution! Liam from GamingOnLinux has been investigating, and he’s got some positive updates for us.

As a bystander, I can confirm that representatives from the developer have shared that Funcom is collaborating with Valve to actively implement their Battleye anti-cheat software on Linux and SteamOS platforms.

Marveling at the revelation, I can’t help but be astounded by the prospect of achieving a smooth 60 FPS gameplay in Dune: Awakening on the Steam Deck. Preliminary demonstrations featuring FSR 3 and Frame Gen have left me eagerly anticipating what’s to come.

Indeed, SteamOS can now be utilized on the Lenovo Legion Go S, and it has some compatibility with the more potent ROG Ally and Legion Go devices as well. The convenience of transitioning from Windows 11 to SteamOS, without encountering issues with anticheat systems, is certainly a toast-worthy achievement for gamers.

As an analyst, I’m excited to share that I have a scheduled live stream with Funcom on May 28, delving into the upcoming aspects of their game, which is slated for release on June 5.
