What Is Dune: Prophecy About?

The story of Dune: Prophecy is recounted from the perspective of the secretive order of women called the Bene Gesserit. Endowed with remarkable talents through their command over both body and mind, these women skillfully navigate the complex power struggles and deceit within The Imperium, working towards objectives that will eventually guide them to the elusive planet Arrakis, or Dune. Among the actors portraying these characters are Emily Watson as Valya Harkonnen, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina as Princess Ynez, Shalom Brune Franklin as Mikaela, Faoileann Cunningham as Sister Jen, Aoife Hinds as Sister Emeline, Chloe Lea as Lila, Travis Fimmel as Desmond Hart, Mark Strong as Emperor Javicco Corrino, and Jade Anouka as Sister Theodosia, with Chris Mason rounding out the cast as Keiran Atreides.

During an interview with The Playlist, writer Jon Spaihts expressed, “That project is ongoing, but I’m limited in what I can discuss about it. I was shifted to work on Dune: Part Two and explore potential cinematic adaptations within the Dune universe. We’re still discussing these projects, yet I’m asked to keep most of the details under wraps. The Dune universe is full of storytelling possibilities, and production is well underway, but I’m unsure about the specifics of the release dates.”
