Dungeonborne: Best to Worst Classes Ranked | Tier List

As a seasoned adventurer with decades of battle scars and tales under my belt, I’ve had the pleasure of encountering a multitude of classes in this realm, each with its unique quirks and strengths. But among them all, there are some that truly stand out – for better or for worse.

In an role-playing game such as “Dungeonborne,” choosing the right class is essential. Every class brings something unique to the table and comes with distinct advantages and disadvantages. This game provides players with an impressive selection of eight diverse classes. In this article, I will share a tier ranking that evaluates each class from strongest to weakest.

Best to Worst Classes Ranked

Based on my personal experience and extensive research, I have categorized this tier list into four sections. I consider the S-tier to be the cream of the crop, the top dogs if you will, representing my favorite choices. On the other hand, the C-tier is where I’d place those options that didn’t quite make the cut for me.

S Tier

Dungeonborne: Best to Worst Classes Ranked | Tier List
  • Swordmaster
    • Swordmasters excel in imitating combat and also concluding it because of their good close combat capabilities. They are also capable of dual-wielding which allows them to unleash some devastating attacks. As a Swordmaster, you will need to equip extra swords in the special designated slots. These extra swords are used in skills.
    • Swordmasters can use Psionic Blades to fire the extra swords at the enemy. They can also use Whirling Blade which causes AOE damage however it will also need to use the extra swords.
    • The only downside of this class is the extra swords requirement but other than that Swordmasters is one of the best classes in the game right now.
  • Fighter
    • Fighters are pretty straightforward to use and excel in close combat. They are also tanky when it comes to defense. With a two-handed weapon, fighters can use Whirlwind which allows them to cause damage in a spinning AOE manner. Using Battle Cry increases their important stats. Charge allows them to move forward faster and they can also increase the movement speed of the entire team by using Inspire.
    • The Fighter class is the most beginner friendly and easy to use in a variety of situations because of their high health and defense.
  • Druid
    • Druids are balanced in both close and ranged combat which makes them pretty versatile. With the Force of Nature skill, Druids can summon living tree branches to help them out in battle by giving them a shield and attacking all nearby enemies.
    • But this is not all, Druids can also transform into a Panther by using Primal Awakening which also clears their debuffs. When in Panther form, the Force of Nature skill is replaced by Shadow Assault. This skill allows the Druid to leap in a forward direction and damage enemies close to the impact area. In the Panther form, Druids can also detect enemies up to a decent range (depending on dexterity).
    • To get good as a Druid, you will need some practice. But in the right hands, Druids can offer invaluable scouting and tactical support that can change the tide of a battle.

A Tier

  • Death Knight
    • Death Knights are decently tanky who are capable of dealing good amounts of damage. The skills of this class include Soul Shroud which is an AOE skill that damages and slows down enemies. Soulstorm is similar to Soul Shroud but it can be activated and deactivated at will while the later is timed. Grasp of the Grave damages enemies and pulls them closer.
    • Death Knights are very strong in close combat but their speed can be a bit lacking. They also rely on Soul Energy so you will have to manage that carefully.
  • Cryomancer
    • Cryomancers are capable of wielding spells that are based on ice magic. These spells include Ice Storm which does AOE damage and can even freeze enemies. Frostbite Curse is a single-unit attack spell which reduces the ice-resistance of your foe. Frost Barrier is a defensive spell which makes you immune to damage. And lastly, Ice Armor increases the defense of your ally and will reduce the speed of the enemy who attacks them.
    • Overall, Cryomancers are pretty capable but they have 2 major setbacks. As a Cryomancer, you will have to rely on Soul Energy instead of Mana for casting your spells but getting Soul Energy can be tough sometimes. Other than that, you can be interrupted while casting a spell which can give your enemy ample time to unleash their attacks on you.

B Tier

  • Pyromancer
    • Pyromancers are long range spell users which are based on fire damage. They can use Pyroblast to either shoot small homing fireballs or cause massive AOE damage by shooting a large fireball after charging up the skill. They also have another skill called Fire Blast which causes fire damage and pushes away nearby enemies.
    • Pyromancers are also susceptible to getting interrupted while casting spells. Especially Pyroblast which takes a decent amount of time to fully charge up. As you can guess, they are pretty weak in close combat. I would prefer Cryomancers over Pyromancers because of the better skills they have.
  • Rogue
    • Rogue is pretty good when it comes to being agile and stealthy. Their skill set includes Petrifying Poison which is applied on the weapon they are wielding which is capable of freezing enemies. Quick Blades allow them to fire 6 daggers in successions. With Vanish, they can disappear and their critical damage is also increased. Swift Concealment is pretty similar to Vanish but has a shorter casting time and duration.
    • Playing as a Rogue, you will have to be vigilant of how you position yourself which makes mastering this class a bit harder when compared to other classes. Rogues have low health and defense which makes them weak in direct confrontations.

C Tier

  • Priest
    • Priest is a support type class which excels in healing. Their skills include Divine Guidance which offers healing to allies and damage to enemies in a large area. Cleanse can be used to heal yourself or another single ally. Divine Protection makes the target immune to damage. The last skill Guard grants the entire team a shield to absorb damage.
    • As part of a team, Priests are very useful and play a crucial role of keeping the team alive if the Mana is managed accordingly. But as a solo player, Priests are weak both in defense and offense categories. They can be easily overwhelmed and defeated by high damage dealing classes.
