Dungeons & Dragons Teases Return of One of Their Creepiest Monsters

As a seasoned Dungeons & Dragons player who has battled countless creatures and traversed numerous worlds, I can’t help but feel a thrill of anticipation at the prospect of facing an old foe that’s long been missing from our gaming tables – the enigmatic Phaerimm. These windcone-shaped monstrosities with their tentacles and magic-sucking abilities were the architects of doom for the ancient Netheril Empire, leaving behind a legacy of fear and intrigue.

Rime of the Frostmaiden, this magical creature has yet to feature in a 5th Edition adventure or have an official statistic sheet created by Wizards of the Coast.

It seems like the Phaerimm are preparing for a return, according to Perkins. He stated, “There’s something Phaerimm-related brewing.”

Perkins didn’t expand on the methods by which the Phaerimm might reemerge, yet he did express enthusiasm about what makes these creatures captivating and peculiar antagonists. “I can’t wait for them,” Perkins shared. “The Phaerimm are such an intriguing, bizarre monster. It’s a flying cone with tentacles, and it absorbs magic. They’re terrifying. I’m eager to see their return.”

In addition, Perkins mentioned that a supporter crafted a miniature of a Phaerimm for him, making it possibly unique since no official Dungeons & Dragons miniatures have ever been produced for them.

On this coming Tuesday, at 12 PM Eastern Time, Wizards of the Coast will share updates about the future of the popular role-playing game, Dungeons & Dragons. You can catch the latest news during the D&D Direct event, which will be broadcast live on the official YouTube channel dedicated to the game.
