Peta Maksanovich and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, the famous “Dancing With the Stars” duo, have recently welcomed their third child, a baby boy. On July 11th, they shared the joyous news with the public, introducing their newest family member who has become the brother to their older sons Shai (age 7) and Rio (age 12 months). The couple has kept the name of their newborn a secret for now.
“They announced on Instagram that he has been delivered safely by his mother, and both mother and newborn are in great condition. The entire process took only 47 seconds from beginning to end, with just one push required.”
In February, Peta, who had previously struggled with infertility and miscarriages, made an unexpected announcement – she was pregnant once more.
“Four months after welcoming Rio into our world, the two-time Mirrorball champion announced on Instagram, “We’ve had a new addition to our family! Yes, we’re aware that this might come as a surprise, but we are beyond elated and can’t wait to embark on this journey of five as a family very soon!”
In March, the DWTS pros announced that they will be welcoming another baby boy.

The newborn will have not just his elder brothers as companions, but also a young cousin to connect with – Val Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson’s son Rome, who is 16 months old. Shai, an excellent older cousin and brother figure, was described by the source to TopMob News in February as such. On the other hand, Rome shows an excessive fondness for babies. His affection towards infants is quite intense.
Watching his son Shai and his brother Rome interact brings back nostalgic feelings for Val, as they share a six-year age difference. He explained, “Their differences in age mirror my relationship with my own brother Maks. Seeing them together is like looking at old photos of us.”
