Dwyane Wade & Gabrielle Union’s Daughter Kaavia Graduates Kindergarten

Kaavia Wade is marking a major milestone.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’m thrilled to share a heartwarming piece of news: Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union have announced that their precious six-year-old daughter has successfully completed kindergarten! This milestone is not just a step forward in her education but a testament to their nurturing parenting.

Gabrielle, who married the Miami Heat player in 2014, wrote this on Instagram about Kaav: “From humble starts to significant achievements, Kaav, you’ve absorbed knowledge, matured, and made your path shine brightly through kindergarten.” She added photos of their daughter wearing a blue graduation cap and gown. “Next adventure: 1st grade—and a fresh universe of discoveries!

“The journey is just beginning,” she continued, “and we’re seated right beside for the ride.”

Gabrielle, who is not only a stepmother to Dwyane’s children Zaire (age 23), Zaya (age 18), Xavier (age 11), and his nephew Dahveon (age 21), has lately pondered over her choice to have Kaavia through a surrogate, which she did in the year 2018.

The actress from Bring It On shared with Marie Claire last month that every individual’s experience with surrogacy is unique. She explained that when there are variations in the process, some may be quick to dismiss it as an option for growing one’s family. However, for her, not being able to carry a child felt like failure and a deep personal embarrassment, as if her body had let her down in a very public way.

She went on to say, “Surrogacy reminded me of feeling cuckolded. Witnessing someone accomplish what I couldn’t was bothersome. To be there for another person’s success when I had failed – it’s a confusing and disheartening experience for those who have shared my journey and feel the same way.

Despite successfully shutting out the criticism she’s received over using a surrogate, Gabrielle finds it challenging to fully embrace her choice.

She openly acknowledged, “I will always struggle with this, forever.” This isn’t something based on other people’s opinions. It’s simply a fact that my longing has never faded. I was prepared for the surprise, but the prayers that went unanswered in a way I expected have made me more mindful that my child is here.

Despite wrestling with my own internal musings, I, a devoted admirer, can’t help but shower appreciation to those who stood by me during those trying times – especially my beloved caregiver.

She expressed her deep appreciation for our surrogate, adding, “It’s a deeply personal experience, and I may always wonder about the ‘if only’s’.

On the first day of soccer practice, Gabrielle Union posted on Instagram about her daughter in May 2021: ‘I can’t handle it yet!!’ She didn’t want to wear her cleats initially, but I’m optimistic that she’ll change her mind once she sees her friends. Rest assured, there will be updates.

In May 2019, Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade were spotted along with their daughter at a New York & Company store located in Burbank, California. Notably, Gabrielle Union unveiled her own branded collection during this visit.

In April 2019, the child reunited with parents Dwayne Wade and Gabrielle Union, brothers Zaire Wade and Xavier Wade, sister Zaya Wade, and cousin Dahveon Morris following their father’s last home game in Miami at the end of his professional career.

Gabrielle has a fan in her baby daughter, who is clearly glowing with delight.

Sugar, spice and everything nice is the recipe for creating Kaavia the baby unicorn. 

Judging by her look, Kaavia doesn’t seem to be a fan of dips in the pool. 

Kaavia has clearly mastered the “shady” glance, hence her nickname “Shady Baby.”

The little one is totally “unbothered” while perched atop her throne in the Union-Wade household.

Kaavia gives the camera a rare smile while in the arms of her papa. 

Through her actions, it’s apparent that she craves excitement, much like a stunt.
