Dying Light: The Beast Announced During Gamescom

As a seasoned gamer who has weathered countless apocalypses and survived hordes of undead, I must say that the announcement of Dying Light: The Beast has me both excited and intrigued. I’ve had my share of escaping laboratories in the past, but the prospect of taking control of Kyle Crane once more is a tantalizing proposition.

During Gamescom’s Opening Night Live event, the upcoming game “Dying Light: The Beast” was officially unveiled by Techland. This new game takes place in the Dying Light universe and brings back the character Kyle Crane. In this installment, Kyle can utilize the zombie DNA he acquired as a rhythmic power, hence the title “Dying Light: The Beat.” Although no release date has been announced yet, Techland plans to reveal it later this year and provide more details about the game.

As an excited fan, I can’t help but share some exciting news about a highly-anticipated expansion for one of my favorite games, Dying Light! Known as “Dying Light: The Beast,” this thrilling adventure takes place in the mysterious and ominous Castor Woods, as hinted at in the trailer below.

In a nutshell, “Dying Light: The Beast” is an exhilarating solo journey through a post-apocalyptic forest known as Castor Woods, which was previously a favorite tourist spot. You’ve managed to break free after 13 years of grueling experiments. Your quest for revenge against your captors soon leads you to uncover a far greater truth. Though the population is significantly reduced, there are still people and factions lurking about, along with countless horrors. Some may ask for your aid, while others will want you dead. Oh, and let’s not forget the enigmatic beast that’s transformed the woods into its own killing field.

Regarding distribution channels and pricing details, “Dying Light: The Beast” will be accessible on PlayStation, Xbox consoles, and PC at a price point of $39.99. Noteworthy mention is that if you’ve already purchased “Dying Light 2 Stay Human Ultimate Edition”, you’ll receive “Dying Light: The Beast” for free, as it was initially intended to be a DLC but later evolved into a standalone expansion following Techland’s reassessment.

The development of Dying Light: The Beast originated from our work on DLC2. However, a story leak led us to reconsider the plot, scale, and overall direction. The decision to make Kyle Crane the main character sparked fresh inspiration for us. Similar to many fans, we yearned to revive Kyle as the hero of Harran. This desire resulted in the creation of Dying Light: The Beast – a self-contained zombie survival adventure featuring new locations, gameplay elements, and a narrative, concluding in an independent 18+ hour journey.

Dying Light: The Beast will get a release date later this year.
