Techland’s “Dying Light: The Beast” was unveiled during Summer Game Fest, available for play in August. Owners of the “Dying Light 2: Ultimate Edition” will enjoy this spin-off for free. Since then, an extensive gameplay demonstration has been presented, highlighting nighttime navigation, combat, and the series’ renowned parkour system.
In its comeback from the last two games, Survivor Sense serves a versatile role in various situations. During nighttime stealth, it aids in identifying Volatiles, the deadliest of the infected, enabling Kyle Crane to evade them. Yet, it’s equally beneficial during daylight as it discerns among different types of enemies.
In addition to hand-to-hand combat, using bows, and knocking foes off buildings to their doom, you’ll also find firearms such as shotguns and assault rifles at your disposal. Kyle even hijacks a pickup truck to navigate the world, releasing special gas to attract a Chimera. It’s okay to run over the infected, but keep in mind that vehicles can sustain damage and will eventually be destroyed.
Dying Light: The Beast launches on August 22nd for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC.
