EA Sports College Football 25 Reveals Top Fixes for First Patch

As a long-time college football fan and Dynasty mode user, I can’t help but be both excited and a bit frustrated with the latest developments in this dynamic simulation game. The unpredictability of Dynasty is one of its most appealing features, but it also means that there are bound to be some challenges and issues along the way.

The Deluxe Edition of EA Sports College Football 25 was released a week ago for early buyers, while the Standard Edition became available on July 19th. As a result, a large number of gamers have joined the popular title. With this influx of players, developer Electronic Arts is now gathering feedback and data to identify issues that need addressing in College Football 25. Although no official date has been set for the first patch, EA has recently unveiled their initial plans for targeting adjustments. These modifications are sure to generate excitement among players, particularly those who enjoy the Dynasty Mode.

Developers have announced some modifications in the new update for keeping the game roster current with real-life college teams. Fans can anticipate a roster update around the commencement of the college football season, and further updates will follow throughout the season to adjust player ratings according to actual-world performance. Regarding Dynasty Mode’s future, EA intends to fine-tune Super Sim Logic to prevent underdog teams with low ratings from causing unexpected upsets in real life. Additionally, there are plans for updating recruiting processes and addressing several acknowledged issues. Many of these problems have known solutions, so it is advisable to read the update notes if you encounter any difficulties while playing Dynasty Mode.

As a long-time fan of sports video games, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news with you all! Having grown up playing Electronic Arts (EA) titles, I can honestly say that their latest release, EA Sports College Football 25, has truly surpassed my expectations.

Prior to discussing the problems our team is currently working on for upcoming releases, let’s first touch upon the topics of rosters and likenesses.

In the Campus Huddle discussion, it was brought up that there are minor errors with the team rosters and likenesses which we aim to correct promptly while dealing with the usual summer shifts in college football rosters. For our dedicated Dynasty game enthusiasts, feel free to jump in and play right away or else wait for a roster update close to the college football season start for an authentic and updated experience.

Another question we have to address is this: Will ratings for college football rosters be updated as the season progresses? The answer is yes, so keep an eye out for those updates!

Based on my personal experience as a dedicated member of our team, I can assure you that we are deeply committed to staying informed about the most pressing concerns and listening attentively to the valuable feedback from our players. Here are some of the major problems that we’re currently working diligently to address.

AUDIO

  • Incorrect commentary when playing as the first game of the season in Dynasty at Utah
  • Florida State’s War Chant and Tennessee’s “Rocky Top” are not audible when playing only on Xbox Series S

LOGOS

  • The following teams/conferences have incorrect logos: Stanford, UMass, Western Michigan, Jacksonville State, FIU, New Mexico, SEC, Conference USA, and the Sun Belt
  • UTEP and Wyoming display incorrect athletic branding on their equipment in Dynasty
  • Visual issue with conference patches when changing a small subset of teams Conference in Dynasty

DYNASTY

As a long-time fan of college football, I have seen firsthand how unpredictable and dynamic the sport can be. From injuries that sideline star players to unexpected upsets, there are always factors at play that create ripples and shape the course of a team’s season.

Regarding player feedback on the Super Sim Logic, we’ve taken notice of your comments. We’re working on adjusting this feature, particularly addressing concerns about unexpected upsets from FCS schools. For more comprehensive tuning, we’ll closely review player feedback and data from all Dynasties to gather additional information. We’re excited to hear about the unique experiences you’ve shared, so please keep them coming!

  • Super Sim Logic Tuning: The team is looking into tuning of the Super Sim Logic, including FCS schools upsetting too many Power 5 schools
    • Note: As we continue internal testing on the tuning of Super Sim Logic, Top 25 Polls & the College Football Playoff seedings will also see an improvement.
  • Issue when adding additional teams to the PAC-12 conference when using custom conferences does not generate a new conference schedule as intended.
    • Workaround: After adding teams to the PAC-12, open the Conference Rules and set Divisions to ON. Users will see they can now set the number of conference games by toggling back and forth. Users can then disable divisions and edit other settings as desired.
  • Issue with modified conference rules not saving
    • Workaround: Users can re-enter the Conference Rules screen to ensure their settings were saved and are valid. If they did not save, then the rules are not valid with their current setup.
  • Occasionally, when a recruit reaches their Top 5 stage, it will not display the recruit is “Ready for a Visit” despite meeting the requirements.
  • Recruiting Tuning: The team has planned additional tuning to recruiting logic.
  • Small chance of a freeze when simulating individual plays quickly after exiting “Super Sim”
    • Workaround: Wait a couple seconds in between simulating the individual plays before exiting Super Sim.
  • Issue with the Practice Tile not initially appearing in the “Team” tab
    • Workaround: Exit the mode and then re-enter.
  • Current maximum cap of 20 created coaches instead of the intended 32 created coaches
    • Note: The team is targeting Tuesday for an issue fix that limits Dynasty’s to 20 created coaches. A current work around is using existing coaches in the remaining spots to reach 32.
  • Issue with some player’s jersey numbers and/or OVRs changing when editing certain players gear.

Online Dynasty: Currently, one of our main concerns is that certain players are experiencing difficulties joining an existing online football dynasty. We’ll keep you updated with any new information regarding this issue by posting updates here on this thread from @CFBDirect.

TEAM BUILDER

  • When using a Team Builder team in Play Now, cleats are defaulted to Adidas regardless of selected brand apparel.
    • Note: This does not impact Team Builder teams used in Dynasty
  • Second custom image layer not appearing on the field
    • Workaround: Add a second layer, then select a generic image, and then re-select your custom image.

Based on my experience working on development teams, I can tell you that there are several significant issues we’re currently addressing for our next console update. Many of these improvements will necessitate a title update, which is essentially a major overhaul of the game or application. As someone who has been part of numerous development projects, I understand that these updates can be time-consuming and complex. But rest assured, our team is dedicated to making your experience better, and we’ll keep you informed every step of the way. So, stay tuned for a full Campus Huddle announcement when we’re ready to roll out the next title update!
