As much excitement builds among fans over the upcoming release of EA Sports FC 26, the creators at EA still have a significant update planned for FC 25. The team recently unveiled their Season Finale Update, which is set to wrap up the year with a substantial final patch. Smaller tweaks could be on the horizon as well, potentially serving as tests for potential Ultimate Team updates in FC 26. However, this should mark one of the last major gameplay updates before we move onto the next iteration.
In the Season Finale Update, several modifications have been made. The team has significantly improved the precision of ground passes for players with superior passing abilities. Additionally, they’ve diminished the impact of the Rush Out PlayStyle. On the Ultimate Team front, players now can possess five distinct PlayStyles, enhancing their already formidable power.
In the following days, you can expect the final episode for this season to be added to the game as a downloadable update. For those who’d like to see all the changes, you can find the detailed list of updates, or “patch notes,” further down.

Gameplay Updates
Improving Ground Passes For Skilled Passers
In the Season Finale Update, we’ve made the following passing change based on your feedback:
- Moderately increased Ground Pass accuracy for players with high Passing related Attributes.
- This change does not impact Driven Ground Passes.
Through this adjustment, our aim is to narrow the difference in exceptional passing abilities between players whose skills are primarily attributed to their Passing attributes, and those whose playstyles emphasize passing. Ultimately, we wish for both categories of players to excel in performing impressive passes.
Absolutely, factors such as providing clean input and applying defensive pressure on the passer are still crucial in determining whether a pass will be successful.
In FC 25, we aim for the passing experience to be genuine, ensuring that skilled passers from real-life games excel at passing within ours as well.
Reduced GK Rush Out PlayStyle Effectiveness
We’ve tweaked goalkeepers in the Season Finale Update based on your feedback:
- Slightly reduced the rate of acceleration for goalkeepers with the Rush Out PlayStyle+.
- Significantly reduced the rate of acceleration for goalkeepers with the Rush Out PlayStyle.
From your feedback, it appears that the Rush Out PlayStyle+ has been exceptionally successful in thwarting attacking attempts by effectively shutting them down.
As a gamer, I understand the thrill of goalkeeper rushes against incoming attackers, but what we’re aiming for here is a fairer, more balanced one-on-one scenario. This adjustment is meant to open up different defensive approaches and tactics, making our gaming experience even more diverse and exciting!
Improving Header Accuracy
Based on your feedback expressing a desire for headers to provide a stronger offensive threat, we’ve implemented this adjustment:
OR
- Slightly increased accuracy of headers performed by the shooting input.
Although it’s not desired for every header to result in a goal, there’s been a recognized need to enhance the impact of headers in FC 25. Here’s what a header might have resembled prior to the Season Finale Update.
In the usual manner, we’ll persistently examine your opinions about headers and various other gameplay elements within FC 25, so kindly share them with us through platforms such as our Feedback Portal and Discord channels.
