Electronic Arts (EA) plans to officially reveal their upcoming Battlefield title this coming summer. After its grand unveiling, the complete game will be available for PlayStation 5 starting in March 2026. At present, the new first-person shooter (FPS) is undergoing testing through a Battlefield Labs application.
During their most recent financial conference call, the publisher officially announced the news, with CEO Andrew Wilson describing it as a significant milestone towards delivering an exciting new era of blockbuster entertainment. Moreover, they disclosed that the forthcoming free-to-play Skate game is also slated for release within the same timeframe.
Alongside the announced release date, EA DICE shared an extensive update on Battlefield Labs via Twitter. The developer confirmed they’ve solidified a robust foundation for the core Battlefield gameplay and plan to expand testing’s scale. This month, more players from Europe, America, and Asia will be invited to participate in the playtests.
As a gamer, I’m excited to tell you that we’re not only adding new content but also refining our core aspects. This includes finding the right balance among various weapon types and their damage values, ensuring smooth movement mechanics, and perfecting combat pacing. In other words, we’re tweaking things like gun handling, character agility, and enemy encounters to make the gameplay more enjoyable for everyone!
