As a dedicated EastEnders fan who’s been watching since its humble beginnings, I must say my heart is pounding with anticipation for the soap’s 40th anniversary! The last few years have seen some truly gripping storylines that have kept me hooked, and I can only imagine what they have in store for us next.
Although we’re yet to uncover the festive surprises that EastEnders has planned for Christmas and New Year, the anticipation for February is palpable, as it marks the 40th anniversary of this beloved BBC soap opera.
Typically, soap operas go all out when celebrating their anniversaries, and with EastEnders’ impressive track record lately, expectations are running high.
During our latest movie premiere, a significant topic of conversation naturally arose between us, the cast and team members.
“I can’t say too much, but what I will say is it’s explosive,” he teased.
Clenshaw mentioned, “Besides the live part, we’ve filmed most of it, and it looks fantastic. Prepare for all of it.
“And we have. We’ve done all the bits leading up to it and yeah it’s honestly brilliant.”
It’s unknown at this point how the events surrounding Christmas and New Year might tie into the live episodes, as we are still waiting for more details.
But we do know there will be a live episode during the anniversary week (17th – 21st February 2025).
