EastEnders airs dangerous twist for Phil Mitchell in early iPlayer release

As a seasoned EastEnders viewer with over two decades of witnessing the Mitchell family’s tumultuous journey, I must say that the latest twist involving Phil Mitchell has sent chills down my spine. It’s like watching a train wreck in slow motion – you know it’s going to be painful, yet you can’t look away.

Attention: This information reveals plot points from the EastEnders episode scheduled for Tuesday, 10th December, which can be viewed on BBC iPlayer or BBC One. Proceed with caution if you wish to avoid spoilers.

In the recent EastEnders episode, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), found himself under the grip of a treacherous turn, as cunning Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) took drastic steps to have things go her way.

Nicola aims to enlist Phil’s aid in separating from their former partners, Teddy Mitchell (played by Roland Manookian) and Sharon Watts (portrayed by Letitia Dean), each on their own.

Upon finding Phil’s home in a deplorable condition, he angrily demanded Nicola to depart and remain silent. However, instead of complying, Nicola immediately confided in Sharon about the situation.

When Sharon inquired about any accessible alcohol at Phil’s place, she unintentionally disclosed to Nicola that Phil was in recovery from addiction.

I was astonished by my fortune when Sharon confided in me that she and Phil had already exchanged a kiss prior to Teddy’s arrival on the Square.

Nicola encouraged Sharon to help out Phil, while secretly delighting that her scheme was unfolding successfully after they parted ways, she chuckled privately.

In no time at all, Nicola shared with Teddy every detail about the kiss, followed by flattering words, hoping that he would be her possession from then on.

At Phil’s place, Sharon asked Phil about the tale involving Nicola, and since then, Phil has tidied up, asserting that Nicola was lying.

Observing signs of something amiss, Sharon pressed Phil for explanations, and, over time, the struggle within him became evident on his countenance, offering a heart-wrenching portrayal by McFadden.

In my humble opinion as a film critic, Sharon had sworn an unwavering commitment to stand by Phil, and it seemed as if he was about to confide in her heart-to-heart – until an intrusive text from Teddy disrupted the moment, prompting Phil to assert his independence.

Stepping into the bar again, I found myself catching a scene unfolding between Nicola and an enthusiastic Teddy – locked in a kiss. But thankfully, Teddy must have sensed my approach because he swiftly extricated himself from the situation, just as our eyes met.

Later, Nicola returned to see Phil, presenting him with a gift and hinting that he needed Sharon.

But as Nicola placed a bottle of booze on the table, will alcoholic Phil succumb to temptation?
