EastEnders airs horrific realisation for Reiss in early BBC iPlayer release

As a devoted fan of EastEnders, I was absolutely gripped by Thursday’s episode (25th July 2024), featuring the enigmatic character Reiss Colwell, portrayed brilliantly by Jonny Freeman. The tension and suspense were palpable as Reiss faced yet another life-altering revelation following his chilling act.

As a long-time fan of EastEnders, I can’t help but feel excited and slightly anxious as I write this. I’ve been hooked on the show since my teenage years, and it’s become a part of my weekly routine. So when I read the warning that Thursday’s episode (25th July 2024) contains spoilers, I couldn’t help but feel a twinge of disappointment.

In the most recent episode of EastEnders, Jonny Freeman, played by Reiss Colwell, unveiled another shocking discovery following his questionable actions.

Reiss quietly put Debbie’s (Jenny Meier) pillow back over her face, taking her life, and then casually left the scene, going back home undetected.

After an argument with Martin Fowler and Lauren Branning that left me confused about the source of their anger, I returned home to my pregnant partner Sonia Fowler.

Sonia accidentally answered a call intended for Reiss, delivering the news that Debbie had unfortunately passed away. Reiss concealed his feelings of guilt, and Sonia provided him with solace as he wept.

As a curious fan following Debbie’s story, I accompanied her partner to the nursing home with bated breath. Upon our arrival, a compassionate nurse shared the unfortunate news that Debbie’s condition appeared to have taken a turn for the worse due to her recent struggle with pneumonia.

The nurse explained that Debbie was currently unable to be seen due to the routine closure of her room following standard protocols after it became a crime scene. Additionally, she expressed regret for her previous scolding of Sonia when she hadn’t signed in during her visit, which had startled Reiss since he wasn’t aware that Sonia was there before committing the fatal act.

During the interrogation by the police about Debbie’s condition, Reiss requested that they give his wife some privacy, unbeknownst to them concealing a deeper reason for not wanting them near Debbie’s deceased body.

At home, Reiss learned that Sonia intended to sell her house. Upon this revelation, Reiss let out a hopeless laugh: if only he had been aware of Sonia’s plan, he might not have felt compelled to harm Debbie.

Sonia comforted Reiss as he descended into sobs, but will the truth come out?

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One and from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
