EastEnders airs major Nish Panesar update in early iPlayer release

As someone who has seen their fair share of soap opera drama, I must say that EastEnders never fails to surprise me. The latest development with Nish Panesar has left me on the edge of my seat! It’s always intriguing to see how characters evolve and react in such high-stress situations.

heads up: the discussion ahead may reveal key plot points from the EastEnders episode due to air on iPlayer and BBC One on Thursday, 26th September.

At the close of another surprising week for the family, EastEnders revealed a significant development concerning the ill character Nish Panesar (played by Navin Chowdhry).

When Nish found out that his son Shiv Jalota (Vinny) had deceived him, he attempted to harm Vinny – but was prevented by Ravi Gulati (his elder son) and Vinny’s mother, Suki Panesar (Suki).

Following Nish’s repeated threat to annihilate Suki, she seized the opportunity for retribution as Nish fell unconscious.

In a desperate state, Nish struggled to breathe and pleaded with Suki for aid. Meanwhile, Suki remained composed as she sipped a drink, seemingly indifferent to the fact that Nish was inching ever closer to his demise. This cool demeanor of hers certainly gave Kim Tate from Emmerdale (played by Claire King) a formidable rival!

At the very end, Nish was miraculously rescued, leaving the entire family in disbelief when they learned that he had altered his will from his hospital bed.

From now on, all matters will be handled by his grandchildren, namely Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) and Davinder ‘Nugget’ Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury).

In their home, Vinny was tending to his head wound while assertively stating that Suki ought to have allowed Nish to perish.

In the meantime, Suki inquired from her fiancée Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) if she could reach out to a connection to find potential ways to ensure the businesses wouldn’t end up belonging to the children.

It became clear to Eve that there was simply no other option, yet Suki persisted in her determination, making her way towards the hospital.

Standing before Avani, Nugget, Ravi, Vinny, and Sophie Khan Levy (Nandra-Hart), I made it clear to Nish that I wouldn’t allow his recent display of power to go unchecked.

However, when the doctor shared that Nish’s heart condition was worsening faster than anticipated, it became clear to all that Nish’s death was drawing near, as he began examining hospice resources.

Later on, Avani labeled Suki equally unkind as Nish for being willing to stand by while he met his end. This remark left Suki feeling unsettled, and she confided in Vinny that she could never tolerate resembling harsh Nish.

Instead of turning out like either of your parents, as Suki suggested, consider reconciling with Nish for your own well-being.

Following Nish’s apology for his behavior, Vinny informed his father that he had pardoned him and offered comfort to a tearful Nish.

Afterward, Suki chose to pay Nish a personal visit alone, sharing with her former spouse that their conflict had ended. She emphasized that even after his departure, she would continue to be surrounded by her cherished family members.

In response to my suggestion that Nish might find a tranquil end, I chose to depart, allowing him space to ponder on the implications of what I’d said.

Is it possible that Nish will set things right before the end, or does he still have a surprise in store? Or could it be that Suki’s suggestion of a tranquil passing won’t come to pass, and his tale takes an unexpected turn instead?

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One and from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
