EastEnders airs new treacherous Cindy Beale scheme in early iPlayer release

As a long-time EastEnders fan with a soft spot for the Beale family, I must say, today’s episode left me quite troubled. Cindy Beale, once a strong and resilient character, has unfortunately sunk to new lows. Her actions towards Bobby are not only unjust but also downright manipulative.

Today, the character Cindy Beale, portrayed by Michelle Collins, hit a fresh low on EastEnders (September 18th, 2024).

The aftermath of Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) catching Anna (Molly Rainford) and Freddie (Bobby Brazier) sharing a kiss unfolded dramatically.

Bobby was furious at Freddie, understandably feeling betrayed by his actions.

Similarly, he felt just as frustrated because Anna didn’t inform him about her pregnancy and subsequent decision to terminate it.

Right away, I swiftly stepped up for Anna, feeling sincerely pleased that things between us and Bobby were on edge.

In their altercation, Freddie attempted to reconcile matters and pick Bob over Anna, however, his efforts fell short.

Eventually, Cindy approached Anna to discuss the matter, asserting that her daughter merited more than Bobby. However, Anna was firm in her stance – she preferred Bobby, who was indeed a decent man.

As a devoted film enthusiast, I’d put it like this: “Anna, I asked you to hold off discussing it for a while, give things time to cool down… meanwhile, I started hatching some plans.

She went round to see Bobby, and immediately pretended to be the caring stepmum we know she isn’t!

I’ve just spent time with Anna. She seems okay, but here’s something tough to share: Anna confessed she has feelings for Freddie. I’ve always been open about my thoughts on your relationship with Anna, and surprisingly, this is for your and her benefit.” Cindy deceived. (In this paraphrase, the sentence structure and language are simplified to be more natural and easy to read.)

Moving forward, Cindy remarked: “Initially, Anna and Freddie may tread lightly with you, but in time they might overlook your emotions regarding their deception. Witnessing them together in the Square could cause deep sorrow.

Bobby pondered if he might visit his mother in the Cotswolds, and Cindy eagerly embraced the notion.

As a fan, I’d encourage you to consider embarking on a fresh journey, distancing yourself from Anna and this place. It’s time for self-care, Bobby. Let go of the haunting memories of the past in this very spot and step into a new chapter of your life.

Will Bobby take her terrible advice?

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One and from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
