EastEnders airs shock arrest as Cindy Beale makes her move in early iPlayer release

With Cindy Beale (portrayed by Michelle Collins) now awake, everyone is eagerly waiting for the EastEnders’ detectives to unmask the individual responsible for the attack on her.

Cindy has been in a coma since Christmas Day, when she was smacked over the head with a shovel.

On that particular day, she found herself with a multitude of adversaries, for it was Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) who revealed her secret relationship with Junior (Micah Balfour), causing the Knights and Beales to become aware of it.

In today’s episode (13th January), Cindy struggled to remember what happened on that fateful night.

As she conversed with the detective, all she could recall were pieces of information such as the pub, the falling snow, and the Beale residence.

Peter (Thomas Law) ran into the room a full day after she’d woken up with Anna (Molly Rainford).

While they were grateful to see her awake, Cindy was furious that Ian hadn’t told them sooner.

Later, Peter arrived accompanied by Lauren, and it was evident that an uncomfortable tension filled the atmosphere as Cindy and Lauren interacted.

Lauren tried her best to be amicable with Cindy, but the feisty woman didn’t return the sentiment.

It became apparent as they hurled insults at one another that their conflict was far from resolved. However, before departing, Lauren made it clear to Cindy a crucial point: Why hadn’t she reported to the authorities that Ian had lied about not having an argument?

After pondering on various thoughts, Lauren departed, and coincidentally, everyone under suspicion found themselves congregating in the pub, exchanging furtive glances that were as sharp as knives.

However, the enjoyable moment didn’t last long, as the police intervened and took Lauren away, charging her with suspected assault against Cindy.

But, the good times quickly ended when the police arrived and apprehended Lauren, accusing her of attacking Cindy under suspicion.

Or, in a more casual tone:
But the fun didn’t last, as the cops showed up and hauled Lauren off, nabbing her for allegedly attacking Cindy.

Did she do it?
