EastEnders airs shocking death as Reiss and Sonia storyline reaches climax amid disaster

During its anniversary week, EastEnders surprised viewers with a shocking death plot twist on the 19th of February.

Yesterday, an incident occurred at the Queen Vic when Reiss (Jonny Freeman), in a reckless move, crashed his vehicle into the storage area filled with gas canisters, resulting in a massive explosion.

From that moment on, the residents of Albert Square had a fight for survival.

In various sections of the Queen Vic pub, a chosen group of individuals found themselves trapped. Among them were two expectant mothers, Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) and Lauren Branning (Jacquline Jossa), who ended up confined together within the kitchen area.

Bianca (Patsy Palmer) was on a mission to rescue Sonia, fearful of where Reiss was, also.

Thankfully, Bianca was able to reach her sister who was in the middle of contractions.

But she didn’t spot Reiss was behind, following her.

Sonia was extremely distressed, for she had gone into labor prematurely, while Reiss was attempting to maintain a facade that all was well.

As a passionate moviegoer, I found myself hit by debris when the structure crumbled again, sending me sprawling onto the cold, hard ground.

“Well, that was close,” Reiss joked, before a bathtub fell through the roof and squashed him.

With Reiss the first to bite the dust in the Queen Vic drama, will anyone follow?
