EastEnders character makes power play as Cindy mystery deepens

The Cindy Beale (played by Michelle Collins) mystery has deepened on EastEnders in today’s episode.

Following the shocking revelation about Gina (Francesca Henry)’s actions on the night of her mother’s assault, the Knight family found themselves in disarray – and literally falling apart on the sidewalk.

Anna (Molly Rainford) felt deeply disappointed when she learned her sister had been involved with her romantic interest. Despite George (Colin Salmon)’s attempts at mediation, the sisters found themselves needing to address their issues head-on.

However, Anna awkwardly disclosed the information about the shovel linked to the assault on Cindy being discovered in the storage barrel, in full view of both the Knights and the Beales.

George moved the discussion indoors, and Thomas Law urged him to reveal the shovel so the cops could handle it from then on.

Yet, upon trying to find it on the rooftop, where he had stashed it earlier, George was dismayed to discover that it was no longer there.

In another location, Cindy’s suspicions prompted her to reach out to Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden). At first, he failed to respond to her knocks due to his own struggles with mental health issues.

Once Cindy managed to enter, she requested a firearm from Phil to make herself feel more secure on the streets, as her assailant was still unapprehended.

Phil mentioned that he wouldn’t do something, followed by a humorous comment about how, when a woman in Walford carries a gun, it’s often Phil who gets wounded instead.

Cindy began teasing Phil by saying that he no longer possessed a gun because he wasn’t the strong man he once was, which made for awkward watching given Phil’s mental struggles – until eventually he walked towards his safe, confirming that he did own a firearm, but he wouldn’t be handing it over to her.

On a deflated note, Cindy exited her residence, momentarily halting at the doorstep to jot down the safe combination on her smartphone for future use…

The episode then cut to Junior (Micah Balfour), who placed the bloodied shovel inside his house.

What will Junior do with the evidence? And will Cindy get a gun?
