EastEnders’ Cindy Beale is ‘paranoid’ ahead of attacker reveal

When Cindy Beale, portrayed by Michelle Collins, finds herself in a tight spot and fears for her safety, there’s no one more formidable to reckon with.

But as EastEnders approaches its 40th anniversary, that’s exactly where we find the fierce woman.

On Christmas day, Cindy found herself in a perilous situation following a dramatic confrontation at the Queen Vic, involving most of her family. As they discovered the truth about her passionate relationship with Junior (Micah Balfour), it was as if she had been abandoned to fate.

Despite the assailant remaining unidentified and the police struggling to make headway in their investigation, Cindy has been attempting to regain her composure. In the interim, she’s been looking for a firearm as a precautionary measure.

During a special conversation with TopMob, Collins shared insights into Cindy’s mental state as we draw near to the 40th anniversary week, a time when it is expected that her attacker will be revealed publicly.

Collins remarked, “She seems extremely anxious and troubled, just as anyone would be after such a startling encounter with a shovel!

It seems she’s extremely frustrated due to being in a state of desperation, as she’s unsure about the identity of the person involved, but she’s certain they must be someone very near. This situation appears highly upsetting to me, and I believe it’s pushing her towards hopelessness.

It seems like she might become extremely upset, given her current state of confusion; when you’re constantly on edge, convinced that everyone is working against you, it appears she believes no one can be trusted.

With Cindy being quite distrustful already, can she trust anyone?

In simpler terms, “Everyone appears to be under suspicion. It’s quite unsettling to discover that someone harbors such intense hatred towards you, to the point of attempting to harm or kill you. And what makes it even more alarming is the possibility that this person might try again… after all, they’ve already broken a window in her home!

As a cinephile, I can confidently say that her actions speak volumes of fear. She’s not just running; she’s fleeing with an intensity that suggests deep distress. To put it bluntly, she appears terribly miserable.
