EastEnders confirms Ruby Allen comeback as Louisa Lytton returns to role after three years

As a long-time soap opera enthusiast who has weathered countless twists, turns, and family dramas, I must say that the return of Ruby Allen to EastEnders is a most intriguing development. Having witnessed Ruby’s tumultuous journey over the years, from her arrival as Johnny Allen’s daughter in 2005, to her departure in 2006, and then her comeback in 2018, I find myself on the edge of my seat, eagerly awaiting what lies ahead for this complex character.

Ruby Allen is returning to Walford before the 40th anniversary of EastEnders, with actress Louisa Lytton taking on her famous character again.

In my recent cinematic experience, I found myself revisiting the captivating world of “EastEnders,” where our protagonist Ruby had left quite an impression back in November 2021. This time around, we find Ruby being led away by the authorities following her heinous deceit about a once-cherished friend, Stacey Slater (portrayed exceptionally by Lacey Turner).

At one point, Ruby told her husband Martin Fowler, played by James Bye, that she was carrying his child. However, these claims were initially deemed false, and the BBC soap opera has remained vague about whether Ruby was actually pregnant during that period.

It’s rumored that Lytton will be back for an extended period on the program, which means we’ll uncover her reasons shortly as she stirs up more trouble in Martin and Stacey’s world.

Discussing her return, Lytton expressed her excitement about being invited back to the Square again, this time to explore Ruby’s journey once more and offer insights into what the last three years have held for her while she was absent from Walford.

“Ever since I started, I’ve been captivated by Ruby because it’s always exciting and I can hardly wait for others to witness the amazing things that Ruby has yet to reveal.”

Chris Clenshaw, Producer of EastEnders, expressed his pleasure at having Louisa Lytton return to her character, Ruby Allen.

“Ruby’s exit from Walford created numerous questions for Martin and Stacey, and her reappearance will likely bring about a lot of drama for her, as well as everyone else who is connected to her.”

The star has already began filming, and we’ll see Ruby back on-screen later this year.

Initially appearing in 2005 as the daughter of gangster Johnny Allen (portrayed by Billy Murray), Ruby eventually left in 2006. However, she resurfaced in 2018, where Lytton’s powerful portrayals were evident during the harrowing events that saw Ruby become a rape victim, experience a miscarriage, and receive an endometriosis diagnosis.

However, eventually, this period concluded when Ruby transformed into a villain, sparking curiosity about what her initial action will be, as everyone watches eagerly.

Will she be bringing Martin’s child with her, or was she fibbing all along? Watch this space…

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One and from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
