Kacey Ainsworth, who played a role in Grantchester, portrayed Maureen ‘Little Mo’ Slater from 2000 to 2006. When asked if she feels honored to have been part of such an enduring and significant show as it approaches its 40th anniversary, she responded affirmatively, expressing her immense pride in the collaborative effort put forth during her time there.

In a somewhat unprecedented move, our family of four women made a distinct impact on the surroundings as we ventured in.

Regarding Little Mo’s narrative involving domestic abuse by her husband Trevor, Ainsworth commented: “I believe the portrayal of the domestic violence storyline significantly altered public perception on the topic, helping people grasp the concept of coercive control and appreciate the challenges involved in escaping such a situation.

Prior to that, I believe our attention may have been mainly on the violent aspect, but it encompasses both the emotional and physical sides of it too.

I deeply appreciate the way that storyline portrays the emotional impact on women, and I believe they did a fantastic job with it. This aspect of the plot makes me extremely proud, and I anticipate feeling this way about it throughout my lifetime.

After departing from EastEnders, Ainsworth gained recognition for portraying Cathy, the character of Geordie’s wife, in the detective series Grantchester on ITV.

EastEnders plans to celebrate its 40th anniversary by presenting various special events, one of which is a live, interactive episode that allows fans to decide the romantic fate of Denise – either Jack or Ravi.

In the meantime, the soap (television series) is planning a comeback for actor Ross Kemp portraying his role as Grant Mitchell. Additionally, Kemp will host a standalone documentary on the show’s past for BBC One.
