EastEnders’ New Episode Will Get Everyone Talking – But It’s Not Coming Early on iPlayer

After it was confirmed that executive producer Ben Wadey’s debut episode of EastEnders would air on Monday, we have received an update regarding its schedule.

Instead of showing up on iPlayer every morning as usual, this latest episode will not do so and will instead be broadcast simultaneously on BBC One and iPlayer at 7:30 pm on Monday, 16th June.

In a playful manner, Wadey hinted at an upcoming episode set to air next week, following Chris Clenshaw’s finale (airing today, June 13th). He stated: “Next week initiates a significant event in Walford that we anticipate will spark conversations among viewers, and this is merely the start of it.

“We’ve got twists, shocks, and plenty of drama lined up for a summer you don’t want to miss.”

In this episode, Jean steps in to rectify a situation, it seems that Alfie is keeping secrets, and George receives helpful tips.”

This version preserves the main ideas from the original while using more natural and conversational language. The sentence structure has also been varied slightly for readability.

For a span of three years, Clenshaw served as an executive producer on the soap opera. He relinquished this position in February, coinciding with the soap’s 40th anniversary celebration.

Previously, Wadey held the role of a script supervisor on EastEnders, managing their 35th anniversary festivities and a particular episode centered around Linda Carter’s battle with alcoholism.

Kate Oates, who oversees ongoing dramas at the BBC, had hinted earlier about his character’s comeback on the soap opera. She expressed that the core characters in the series are facing some incredibly significant events ahead.

She went on saying: “We find ourselves venturing into unexplored regions, which, given the footsteps of Mr. Clenshaw, is quite an honorable recognition since he has pioneered many new paths. So, the task for Ben [Wadey], our newly appointed executive, is to build upon Chris’s achievements, a challenge he seems eager to embrace. Our team is thrilled about this upcoming endeavor.

“We’re going to miss Chris terribly, but we’re also really excited for what’s to come.”
