EastEnders’ Patsy Palmer on Bianca Jackson’s plan to coax murder confession from killer Reiss Colwell

As a long-time EastEnders fan with a penchant for intrigue and justice, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement seeing Bianca Jackson back on our screens! The return of Patsy Palmer has always been a delight, but this time around, she’s not just here to stir the pot; she’s on a mission to clear Sonia Fowler’s name.

Bianca Jackson, played by Patsy Palmer, has returned to EastEnders and she’s determined to exonerate her half-sister, Sonia Fowler (portrayed by Natalie Cassidy), from any wrongdoing.

Despite Sonia being imprisoned for murdering Debbie Colwell, unbeknownst to her, it was actually her partner Reiss Colwell who committed the crime.

However, Bianca harbors no trust towards Reiss, and in the following sequences, she’ll attempt to coax a confession from him by deceit.

It’s fortunate news indeed! Actress Palmer, who previously shone brightly, has stepped back into her character once more this year, marking her second return. In an exclusive chat with the BBC, she delves deep into the intricacies of B’s ambitious scheme.

Additionally, she expresses her delight in collaborating with Nichola McAuliffe and Michael Bertenshaw, portraying Debbie’s parents, Brenda and Hugh Collins.

We’ll root for Bianca as she embarks on her project, and in the meantime, delve into her thoughts and actions for the coming days by continuing below!

Am I correct in assuming that Bianca is devising a strategy to expose Reiss’s true intentions once he begins feigning allegiance with him?

“She’s improvising since she’s so eager for him to admit something, often feeling frustrated because nothing she’s done seems to work. However, when Bianca unexpectedly becomes supportive of Reiss, he appears to trust it, as the best scenario for him would be if Bianca changes her stance. It’s worth noting that both could be manipulating each other.

Debbie’s will is read this week, and there are a few surprises in there. What can you tease about how that affects Bianca’s approach to Reiss?

Hugh and Brenda arrive accompanied by their lawyer, intending to review Debbie’s will. Reiss instructs Bianca to step aside, allowing her to listen in secret instead. As Bianca overhears the contents of Debbie’s will, she notices a shift in Reiss’ behavior, causing her to ponder if he might be somewhat delusional.

As soon as I notice a change in his behavior, it immediately catches my attention, almost like finding a hidden key when I thought all hope was lost. To put it simply, just when I’m about to surrender, another unexpected aspect emerges, rekindling my determination.

Bianca talks to Debbie’s parents at the café. Is that conversation useful to her?

Bianca senses that there’s something unusual going on, and she wants a little more insight from those who were close to Debbie. It’s intriguing to listen to what Brenda and Hugh have to share about the situation.

“Remember, Bianca doesn’t really know anything about Debbie, only what she’s been told by Sonia and Reiss. I loved working with Nichola and Michael, who play Brenda and Hugh, they are gorgeous people.”

Tell us about Bianca’s new plan to get Reiss talking.

Bianca persuades Reiss to drink vodka, hoping it will loosen his tongue about the life insurance claim he’s made. This is a daring strategy, but she’s determined to do whatever is necessary to extract his confession. She thinks that alcohol might encourage him to speak freely, and perhaps in his inebriated state, he’ll accidentally expose his true character.

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One and from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
