As a long-time EastEnders fan with a soft spot for the Mitchell family, I can’t help but feel a pang of empathy for Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) in these latest storylines. It seems that our favorite tough guy is facing one of his biggest battles yet – loneliness.
In the forthcoming episodes of EastEnders, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) is seen grappling with profound feelings of loneliness, and any new information that comes his way seems to deepen this sense of despair.
After driving everyone else away, Phil was left alone in his home, yet it appeared as though the BBC soap opera failed to follow up with Phil following this troubling turn of events.
Moving forward, the plot will be re-explored next week. Phil is attempting to offload Peggy’s bar following the club incident earlier this year, but his spirits are dampened when Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian) proposes an insufficient amount for the property deeds.
On a particularly unfortunate turn of events, Phil encounters his former spouse, Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace), along with her partner Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) at Kathy’s Café. To his dismay, he discovers that they had recently reconciled.
In an effort to encourage Phil to share his feelings, both Kat and Phil’s former wife, Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), try to engage him, yet he stubbornly avoids discussing the matter with them as he grows more withdrawn.
Sharon isn’t fully convinced that Phil genuinely intends to part ways with the bar, a place that holds deep sentimental value as it’s named after his cherished mother, Peggy Mitchell, who was portrayed by the late Dame Barbara Windsor.
Regardless of my attempts to discuss it with him, the ongoing sale of that property seems to persistently influence his spirits.
Later on, Teddy and Phil make plans to finalize the paperwork for Peggy’s. However, just when they were about to do so, Teddy’s former partner, Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington), intercepts Phil for a conversation. What could Nicola possibly discuss with Phil?
Additionally, we’ll witness Phil encouraging his friend George Knight (Colin Salmon), urgging him to show courage, as he asks his son Junior Knight (Micah Balfour) to stand by him as his groomsman.
But will George realise that Phil needs support too?
