As a long-time EastEnders enthusiast, I must say that Navin Chowdhry’s portrayal of Nish Panesar has been nothing short of captivating. His character’s complex journey, from abusive husband to a man who finally found redemption in his last moments, has been a rollercoaster ride for the audience.
Actor Navin Chowdhry appears to have confirmed his departure from EastEnders.
In the episode, after a heartrending showdown with his granddaughter Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James), Nish, who was terminally ill and had a history of abuse towards his ex-wife Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), chose to take responsibility for the murder of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) to grant Suki her freedom.
The Six breathed a sigh of relief as Nish was escorted off by the Walford Police after admitting to arranging an attack against Keanu on December 25, 2023.
Although viewers pondered if the Albert Square antagonist had truly departed, actor Navin Chowdhry posted a brief video featuring Nish along with the caption “Farewell to Nish Panesar (2022-2024) [black heart emoji]”. This implies that his character will not be seen on the show for the next two years.

Aaron Thiara, Chowdhry’s fictional on-screen son and the actor portraying Ravi Gulati in the soap opera, expressed: “Such a fantastic [heartfelt, empowering, heartfelt]
Meanwhile, actress Emma Barton, who plays Honey Mitchell, wrote: “Wonderful wonderful you.”
Since Nish hasn’t died on-screen and he requested Suki to see him in prison before his heart condition (virally-caused myocarditis) worsens, is it plausible that we might still witness some concluding scenes involving this character before the end of the year?
Regardless of whether or not Nish’s confession sticks, there will soon be another challenge for The Six on the horizon.
