In the soap opera EastEnders, character Jonny Freeman, portrayed by actor Reiss Colwell, took another shady step forward, as his frantic efforts to hide his deadly secret grew more intense.
Instead of watching the confession recording alone, Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy), who was unaware of the situation, found herself about to do so with Reiss, as he hesitantly consented to join her.
Upon Bianca appearing visibly distressed and admitting to having killed Debbie (Jenny Meier), Sonia’s IVF treatment life insurance beneficiary, Sonia was left in deep sorrow.
In a more casual rewording, Reiss, who was clearly deadly serious, tried to persuade Sonia to concentrate on their shared future, yet Sonia remained determined to search for Bianca.
Later on, Reiss made his way to the detention area, where Bianca was confined, pleading with him for something to eat.
He left her with a sandwich and rushed off, uttering shaky apologies.
At home with Sonia, Reiss heard her mention a childhood dollhouse that Bianca had ruined, causing Sonia to ponder whether this might hint at a more ominous aspect in Bianca’s character.
Next, the police came to let them know that they planned to apprehend Bianca and take her into custody for the crime of murder.
Nervously, Reiss fought to conceal his agitation while Sonia persisted in meeting Bianca’s gaze, intending to inquire about her actions regarding Debbie.
Upon revisiting Bianca, Reiss disclosed that the authorities were seeking her, fearing she could expose his guilt to Sonia if they met.
Bianca swore she wouldn’t do it, but Reiss felt compelled to warn her, saying “I can’t afford to risk it,” as he handed her a bottle of pills instead.
Once more surprising her, Reiss suggested that Bianca swallow all the pills immediately, claiming it would aid her in moving forward.
Growing weaker by the minute, Bianca begged Reiss not to hurt Sonia like he had hurt Debbie.
Leaving Bianca on her own again, Reiss picked up a dollhouse meant for Sonia, signaling his intention as a gift. Meanwhile, Bianca glanced at the pills and tossed them carelessly around the room instead.
Next week’s events promise a confrontation between Sonia and Reiss. Will Sonia expose his deceitful actions and rescue her blameless sister from harm?
Or will Bianca feel she has no other way out, and end up dead at Reiss’s request?
