This upcoming game serves as a sequel to Midgar Studio’s earlier project, Edge of Eternity, and is slated for launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam during the final quarter of 2025.
In the magical realm of Avaris, the tale unfolds as the land stands perilously close to annihilation by ‘Corrosion,’ a dreadful affliction that transforms any life it touches into grotesque, bloodthirsty beasts. Eline, the Soul Whisperer, embarks on a mission to save her world from this plague, joined by her mentor Ysoris and Kanta, a noble prince from a forgotten tribe with shamanic powers.
Yet, her path ahead isn’t straightforward since she must face not only formidable monstrosities but also her own Corrosion affliction, which poses a constant risk of transforming her into the creatures she is determined to protect her world from.
At the edge of your memories lies an exhilarating real-time battle system meticulously crafted by Mitsuru Yokoyama, a renowned combat designer from the Final Fantasy 15 team.
In this game, you’ll work together with your teammates to create potent combination moves by utilizing each other’s skills. Furthermore, the game provides an opportunity for you to wield Eline’s Corrosive power, transforming into a Berserker, and reducing enemies to mere dust through brute force.
The game will additionally offer an expansive, colorful world to delve into, which evolves as you advance, showcasing breathtaking graphics powered by Unreal Engine 5. It also promises an emotionally gripping narrative that tackles profound themes such as resisting the inexorable and embracing the transience of life while cherishing it.
In addition to its other elements, Edge of Memories boasts a lyrically inspired soundtrack crafted by Cédric Menendez. This soundtrack includes vocals from Emi Evans, renowned for her work on NieR: Automata’s score, and concludes with a theme specially created by Yasunori Mitsuda, known for his contributions to Chrono Trigger, Xenoblade Chronicles, and Sea of Stars.
