The hit role-playing game Elden Ring from From Software is making its way to a new platform – the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. During today’s Nintendo Direct presentation, both Nintendo and Bandai Namco officially confirmed that Elden Ring will be available on this console. The release date for Elden Ring on Nintendo Switch 2 has been set for later this year, though an exact launch date has yet to be revealed.
2022 saw Elden Ring rank as the second highest-selling game in the U.S., with a total of almost 30 million copies sold on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC platforms by the end of 2024. Despite no sequel being announced yet, a separate multiplayer spin-off titled Elden Ring Nightreign is slated for release this May. As of now, it’s uncertain whether or not it will be available on the upcoming Switch 2 console.
George R.R. Martin contributed significantly to the background story and mythos of Elden Ring. There’s a possibility that he might play a role in the development of an Elden Ring movie as well.
