A key feature of a roguelike game is its unpredictable elements, and Nightreign embraces this concept wholeheartedly by providing fresh weapons to discover and foes to conquer in each playthrough.

Rather than just the unexpected elements, the game often surprises you by introducing various instances of unforeseen occurrences. Some of these instances may bring in new enemies acting as bosses, while others might significantly modify certain areas on the map. These unpredictable events make each playthrough unique from the previous one, thereby enhancing its replay value.

All Events in Elden Ring Nightreign

Shifting Earth Events

Previously mentioned, occurrences in Elden Ring’s Nightreign offer variety in each playthrough, sometimes unveiling novel adversaries or dramatically transforming the game map itself. These significant map alterations are known as Shifting Earth events, essential for maintaining an exciting and diverse gaming experience from one session to another.

These events include: 

  • The Crater: This changes parts of the map to the volcanic areas. The aesthetic of this altered map resembles the depths of the Volcano Manor from the Elden Ring. The Magma Wyrm is the special boss of this event and one you need to beat to unlock a smithing table. 
  • Rotted Woods: The Rotten Woods turns part of the map into a rot-infested zone. While it is no Lake of Rot, it is a difficult area to navigate. 
  • Mountaintop: The Mountaintop closely resembles the Mountaintop of the Giants and features tons of difficult enemies. If you make it to the top, you can acquire the Favor of the Mountain ability. 
  • Noklateo, the Shrouded City: Resembling Nokron, the Eternal City, Noklateo is a city where the Astel boss resides. Navigate through the city and make it to the end to find and fight Astel. Beating Astel here grants the ability to cheat death once. 

Boss and Enemy Raids

Beyond redesigning the game’s landscape, my beloved Elden Ring: Nightreign introduces brand-new formidable foes to conquer. Here are a few of these daunting adversaries I’ve encountered:

  • Fell Omen Raid: You get to fight the Fell Omen boss. This is the same version of Margit you fought in the tutorial. Defeating Margit here increases ally attack damage per number of active graces.
  • Sentient Pest Raid: Defeating the Sentient Pest boss applies a boost to the runes you gain from each enemy, depending on the number of attacks taken to beat the enemy.
  • Augur Raid: Defeating the Augur Raid alters your flask to heal both HP and FP.
  • Meteor Crashes: The meteors will harbor the Fallingstar Beast bosses. Head over to the site of the crash to discover a crater. You will have to fight the Falling Beast bosses in these craters. Defeating these will grant Epic loot. 
  • Cataclysm: This event buffs all enemies in certain areas and also makes you vulnerable to NPC invasions. Defeating these invaders will give you stronger variants of the weapons they carry. 
  • Double Bosses: Just when you think you’ve survived the night and can move to the next day, the Double Boss event will spawn a second boss. You need to beat this boss to move to the next day. 
  • Old Gaol: The event turns Evergaols into Old Gaols, switching them up with new bosses. 
  • Walking Mausoleum: This event summons a walking mausoleum on the map. This creature functions exactly as it did in the Elden Ring. Knock the white debris off its legs to bring it down. Try not to get crushed while you do so. Once down, you can then use it to duplicate weapons.
