In contrast to the official version, Elden Ring Nightreign doesn’t originally support two-player co-op, however, there’s an unofficial modification available for it now. This latest Soulslike game from FromSoftware deviates from its predecessors by integrating a multiplayer aspect. The game is set in the Elden Ring region of Limgrave, and instead of a challenging single-player journey, it’s designed for one to three players to conquer together.
The absence of a two-player feature in Nightreign has sparked debate among its fans, as it restricts how friends can jointly experience the game. However, a Nexus Mods user named Yui has resolved this issue with their Seamless Co-op mod by incorporating a fan-created two-player cooperative play option for the latest version of the game.
Nightreight 2-Player Mod Enters Rushed Alpha
High Demand Makes It Instantly Popular
In just under a day since its release, Elden Ring Nightreign has seen less than a dozen mods available. However, the yearning for two-player cooperation is so intense that more than 7,000 downloads of the Seamless Co-op mod have already occurred, even though it’s currently in an “hastily prepared” alpha stage. Modder Yui has issued a word of caution to players, explaining that this early state means there will probably be bugs and glitches to iron out later on. Nevertheless, for numerous enthusiasts, the prospect of cooperative play is so appealing that they are willing to accept these initial hiccups.
As a devoted fan, I’d like to share my excitement about the Seamless Co-op mod that revolutionizes my gaming experience! Unlike the usual setup where FromSoftware’s servers are involved, this mod enables modded players to team up effortlessly in duos or even trios. This fantastic feature lets me easily connect with friends on Steam for a more enjoyable adventure together.
It’s essential to note that the Seamless Co-op mod operates independently from the main game’s save files. Consequently, I don’t have to worry about getting banned from official servers because I won’t be connecting to them while using this modified version of the game. This feature offers a whole new level of freedom and fun!
Elden Ring Nightreign Is Off To A Lackluster Start
Adding Two-Player Mode Might Not Save The Game
As a dedicated fan, it’s disappointing to acknowledge that the absence of a two-player mode is merely one of the challenges that Nightreign has been encountering at its debut. Despite the game boasting over 300,000 simultaneous players during launch, it hasn’t achieved the same level of success as FromSoftware’s other titles.
Intriguingly, Nightreign holds the dubious honor of being FromSoftware’s least favorably reviewed game on Steam, which could be a harbinger of future difficulties for the game. The mixed reactions from fans of similar Soulslike games suggest that even incorporating a two-player option might not be enough to salvage the game in the long run.
Despite the current version of the ‘Seamless Co-op’ mod having some kinks and numerous bugs, its creator intends to refine it into a smoothly integrated gaming experience eventually. In the meantime, since Elden Ring Nightreign doesn’t offer a two-player mode yet, this mod could be the unique solution for couples and friends looking to enjoy the game cooperatively.
