To collect every trophy associated with Elden Ring: Nightreign if you’re meticulous and aim for completion, you must finish the enigmatic dungeon known as the Oldest Gaol. Unfortunately, the game provides no guidance about this hidden location, which can make achieving this task quite difficult.

Obtaining the Oldest Gaol in Elden Ring, much like other Nightreign elements, heavily relies on luck. It is a scarcely occurring entity that might require numerous journeys before it materializes. Based on my own encounters, it seems to be even more elusive than the Augur and Fell Omen Raids.

In this handbook, you’ll discover all the essential information regarding the Ancient Prison in Elden Ring: Nightreign. It covers the acquisition of Stonesword keys for the prison cells, the boss battles that lead to the achievement, and much more.

How to Complete the Oldest Gaol in Elden Ring Nightreign

In Elden Ring’s Nightreign, players can conquer the Oldest Gaol by vanquishing designated bosses at specific locations called Evergaols. There are three bosses known as the “Oldest Gaol,” and they have a very rare spawning rate. Please be aware that these bosses are significantly more challenging than typical Evergaol adversaries.

In an Evergaal, it’s important that three specific bosses appear: the Deathrite Bird, the Godskin Duo, or the Ancient Dragon. If any of these bosses show up when you activate an Evergaal, it initiates the event for the trophy. Just a heads up, you only need to defeat one of them to complete the task.

You need a Stonesword Key to open Evergaols.

In my gaming adventures, I’ve found that these bosses seem to be quite elusive, as it took me nearly fifty expeditions before one finally showed up. Even though I always take the time to open a few Evergaols during each expedition, their appearance rate is really low.

How to Get Stonesword Keys in Elden Ring Nightreign

In the game Elden Ring Nightreign, there are several spots where you can acquire Stonesword Keys. The most frequent method to locate these keys is by opening or searching chests, but it’s essential to note that finding them isn’t always certain. Another option for players is to buy Stonesword Keys from merchants or vendors.

However, there is one guaranteed way to get a and that is through specific Relics.

There’s a unique artifact known as the “Grand Burning Scene Relic” that provides a player with a “Stonesword Key” at the beginning of each expedition. Essentially, you’ll always have a Stonesword Key on hand, ready to be used instantly in an Evergaol. This artifact can be placed in a red-colored slot.

Should you successfully obtain the Grand Burning Scene artifact, you’ll be ready to embark on farming Evergaols. Join a match, open an Evergaol to verify if one of the necessary bosses appears. If it does, defeat it. If it doesn’t, leave the expedition and try another one.

The Oldest Gaol Rewards

Overcoming one of the bosses at the ancient prison, known as “The Oldest Gaol”, will grant you the achievement titled “‘The Oldest Gaol’ Trophy” along with two exceptional upgrade options. Additionally, the location of the Evergaol will generate a Site of Grace. This allows players to increase their levels, restore health, and refill their Flasks for continued gameplay.

At the Oldest Gaol, one of the improvements will earn you approximately 30,000 Runes, whereas the other one offers a variety of potential benefits. These could include boosting your Rune collection, enhancing your maximum Health Points (HP) or Stamina, and many other possibilities.

I strongly advise opting for collecting 30,000 Runes every time. Accumulating this number of Runes can immediately boost your character’s level, especially when you encounter the Oldest Gaol at any given level.
