Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Patch Nerfs Final Boss

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Patch Nerfs Final Boss

As a seasoned Elden Ring gamer with countless hours under my belt and a library full of FromSoftware games, I must say that the latest patch for Shadow of the Erdtree has left me both intrigued and a tad frustrated. On one hand, it’s always exciting to see updates that promise to refine gameplay, especially when it comes to challenging boss battles. However, as someone who recently conquered the final boss of this DLC, I can’t help but feel a bit cheated by these adjustments.

In a recent update, FromSoftware has rolled out a new patch for Elden Ring. This update affects the game in its entirety but particularly impacts the final boss of Shadow of the Erdtree. Initially, their opening attack sequence has been modified, and certain attacks have undergone some tweaking.

In this update, enemy attacks will cause less damage to health and stamina, while certain effects’ visibility is enhanced. Additionally, the reach of non-weapon attacks has been reduced. Even though some players might have already completed the expansion in June, it’s always beneficial to join in later!

The patch also includes balance adjustments and changes, including another nerf to Backhand Blades in PvP. Dual-wield spear attacks and the Pata have also seen their damage reduced. Furthermore, the headshot damage animation occurring against other players with the Spread Crossbow has been fixed.

Check out some of the patch notes below. Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is available for Xbox One, PS4, PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. You can read our review, where we scored it a 10 out of 10.
