Following the massive box office hit, Inside Out 2 in 2024, we now have a fresh glimpse into Pixar’s upcoming summer blockbuster in 2025 – here is the recently unveiled trailer for the movie titled Elio.
In a fascinating twist of events, I found myself pondering: what if the object I’ve been eagerly seeking somehow managed to find me instead? This intriguing notion was beautifully explored in Pixar Animation Studios’ comedic masterpiece, “Luca,” where Elio, an enthusiastic alien-spotter, gets more than he bargained for when he is unexpectedly transported to the Communiverse – a breathtaking cosmic playground teeming with intelligent extraterrestrial life. But things take an unexpected turn when he’s mistaken as Earth’s ruler, forcing him to forge unforeseen connections, grapple with a perilous interstellar predicament, and seize the chance to fulfill his lifelong dream.
In the movie, “Elio” showcases Yonas Kibreab as Elio, Zoe Saldaña as Aunt Olga, Remy Edgerly as Glordon, Brad Garrett as Lord Grigon, Jameela Jamil as Ambassador Questa and Shirley Henderson as OOOOO. The film is helmed by directors Madeline Sharafian, Domee Shi, and Adrian Molina, with Madeline Sharafian known for “Burrow” Sparkshort, Domee Shi from “Bao” short and “Turning Red”, and Adrian Molina as co-screenwriter/co-director of “Coco”. Mary Alice Drumm, who was the associate producer of “Coco”, produces this film.
It seems quite probable that this movie will tug at our heartstrings, as Pixar has demonstrated in numerous past productions the ability to make viewers shed tears.
Elio opens only in cinemas on 20th June 2025
