Elon Musk Dodges Alleged Drug Use Question During Press Conference

Elon Musk is reporting from the Oval Office one last time.

At a press conference on May 30th, tech entrepreneur Elon Musk, who was leaving the White House at that time, avoided answering questions regarding allegations of drug use against him, as reported by The New York Times, during Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.

Did you refer to the same news outlet that was accused of fabricating reports about Russiagate and won a Pulitzer Prize? Musk commented when asked about the article. ‘Is it the same entity? A judge recently ruled against The New York Times for their falsehoods regarding the Russiagate scandal, and they may have to return the Pulitzer Prize they received.'” (Note: Although Trump has contested the award and filed a defamation lawsuit against the Pulitzer Prize Board, the title has not been withdrawn from The New York Times.)

Despite not directly commenting on the May 30 article from The New York Times, Trump did remark that the businessman had endured “excessive criticism, false accusations, lies, and assaults.

During Donald Trump’s presidency, The New York Times reported (based on sources privy to Musk’s actions) that Musk had disclosed to others that his use of ketamine, a substance he mentioned for managing depression symptoms earlier, was causing issues with his bladder.

Additionally, it’s said that he was known to use Ecstasy, psychedelic mushrooms, and carried a daily pill box containing approximately 20 pills, as suggested by a photo of the box and eyewitness accounts. However, TopMob News has not been able to independently confirm these reports from the New York Times.

According to the outlet’s report, it remains uncertain whether Elon Musk’s suspected drug usage persisted throughout his four months working at the White House.

Neither the White House nor representatives of Elon Musk provided a response to TopMob News’ request for comment. TopMob News has also made an inquiry to The New York Times concerning Trump and Musk’s statements at the press conference, but have not received a reply as of yet.

To Trump, however, Musk was an MVP on his team.

Trump stated at a press briefing, “He’s one of the world’s top business leaders and innovators, and he’s chosen to apply his immense skills for our country’s benefit. We’re grateful for this, and I want to emphasize that Elon has been relentless in his efforts, playing a key role in spearheading a significant and far-reaching government reform agenda unlike any we’ve seen in decades.

Meanwhile, Musk discussed the future potential of DOGE, expressing his belief that “the team will become more robust as time passes.” He went on to compare it to a form of Buddhism, stating that it’s more like a lifestyle choice. He believes this philosophy is gradually seeping into government structures and is optimistic that in the long run, we’ll witness savings amounting to a trillion dollars.

The press conference took place two days following Musk’s announcement that he was concluding his four-month tenure within the administration.

When my tenure as a Special Government Employee concludes, I’d like to express my gratitude to President @realDonaldTrump for granting me the chance to curb unnecessary spending. This sentiment was shared on platform X. The DOGE (Dollar Optimization Government Efficiency) initiative will continue to grow in significance and become ingrained in the government’s daily operations over time.

Though Elon Musk is no longer working with Donald Trump, continue reading to discover who currently forms part of the Presidential Cabinet.

Originally from Ohio, the individual known as JD Vance previously delved into venture capitalism. Later, he wrote the highly successful 2016 memoir titled “Hillbilly Elegy” and shifted his focus towards politics.

In 2022, a Yale-educated lawyer and ex-Marine won a seat in the U.S. Senate. Shortly after taking office for less than two years, they were chosen to be Donald Trump’s vice presidential candidate for the 2024 elections.

In his role as vice president, not only does Vance stand next in line for the presidency, but he’s also available to cast a decisive vote when necessary, serving as a tie-breaker if Senate Republicans find themselves equally divided on passing bills.

He has been married to law school sweetheart Usha Vance since 2014 and they share three children.

Previously, Senator Marco Rubio from Florida was a vocal critic of Donald Trump during their presidential race in 2016. However, over time, he transitioned into supporting the policies advocated by his earlier adversary.

As a Miami native, born to parents who had immigrated from Cuba, I had the unique honor of being the sole nominee for Trump’s second cabinet to secure unanimous bipartisan approval by the Senate, with a resounding 99-0 vote. (At that time, I was still serving as Ohio Senator, which allowed me to cast my own vote during the confirmation process.)

Rubio, as depicted in this context with the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Melanie Joly, has been married since 1998 to Jeanette Dousdebes, a former cheerleader for the Miami Dolphins. Together, they are parents to two daughters and two sons.

Scott Bessent boasts a 40-year career in international investment management, during which he served as the CEO of hedge fund Key Square Capital Management and held the position of Chief Investment Officer at Soros Fund Management, associated with prominent Democratic benefactor George Soros.

Apart from that, he also imparted knowledge about economic history at his former university, Yale. Additionally, alongside his family, he set up the McLeod Rehabilitation Center within the Shriners Children’s Hospital, which is located in his native South Carolina.

He resides part-time in both Washington, D.C., and Charleston, S.C., alongside his spouse and their two kids.

In a specific location and income bracket, being gay was not a concern for him, as he expressed to the Yale Alumni Magazine in 2015 prior to the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling that made same-sex marriage legal nationwide. He found it remarkable that now, individuals across America, regardless of their socioeconomic status, could enjoy equal rights. If someone had told him in 1984, during our college years when AIDS was ravaging the community, that in thirty years he’d be legally married with two children conceived through surrogacy, he wouldn’t have believed it.

Pete Hegseth, a former Army National Guard veteran, had been serving as the co-host for Fox News’ “Fox & Friends Weekend” since 2017. However, he was chosen by President Trump to serve in the position of Defense Secretary instead.

Previous contentious comments on diversity and military servicewomen, a 2017 sexual assault accusation (which Hegseth has strongly refuted), claims of job-related alcohol consumption (similarly denied) and a 2018 email from his mother (that she subsequently disowned) labeling him as a “woman abuser” posed potential obstacles to his confirmation. However, he was barely approved by the Senate with no Democratic votes and three Republicans voting against him.

Hegseth is married to Jennifer Rauchet Hegseth, his third wife, and they share a daughter together. He also has three children with his second ex-wife, Samatha Deering. The couple got married at Trump National Golf Club in Colts Neck, N.J., in 2019.

Following Matt Gaetz’s decision to step back from contention due to his involvement in scandals, the president-elect ultimately chose Pam Bondi, a former Florida Attorney General and a member of his defense team during his first impeachment trial, to head the U.S. Department of Justice instead.

For eighteen years, she served as a prosecutor with the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office. In 2011, she made history by becoming Florida’s first female attorney general. Near the end of her term, she temporarily co-hosted Fox News’ “The Five” for three days in 2018, which raised questions about the ethical implications of hosting a TV show while still holding an elected position.

The representative mentioned to the Tampa Bay Times that she frequently appears on national news broadcasts. They emphasized that she doesn’t receive payment for her hosting role. They further added that the attorney general is consistently busy, always ready to work around the clock, even when away from the office in different states.

Since the year 2017, Bondi has been in a romantic relationship with John Wakefield, who is the founding principal of Varner Wakefield Equity Partners. He has three children from a past relationship.

2024 presidential prospect and former Trump backer, wealthy software magnate and investor Doug Burgum, who served as North Dakota’s governor from 2017, was later appointed to lead the Department of Interior, overseeing the administration of approximately 480 million acres of federal land, striking a balance between resource exploitation and preservation.

Having been raised in the small town of Arthur, North Dakota, with just 325 residents, Burgum subsequently studied at North Dakota State University. He also launched a chimney sweeping company which he believes played a significant role in his acceptance to Stanford Business School.

In 2017, he shared with Forbes that an article featuring him as a chimney sweep was published in his college newspaper, complete with a picture of me perched on top of an icy chimney amidst frigid Fargo weather. This story was picked up by the Associated Press wire service, and I learned later that it sparked quite a reaction within the Stanford admissions committee.

Burgum is the father of three kids from his previous marriage to Karen Stoker, and he has been in wedlock with Kathryn Helgaas since 2016.

Originally hailing from Glen Rose, Texas, Brooke Rollins earned a degree in agricultural development from Texas A&M University and obtained her Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of Texas School of Law.

In the White House, during the initial term of President Trump’s administration, her role was that of Director for Domestic Policy and Assistant for Strategic Projects.

Prior to her appointment as head of the Department of Agriculture, Rollins served as both CEO and president at the America First Policy Institute, a research organization she established in 2021 with the purpose of advocating for Donald Trump’s political platform.

Based on her official biography, she and her husband Mark Rollins typically fill their leisure hours in Fort Worth by shuttling their four lively kids to baseball matches, livestock exhibitions, piano classes, and Texas A&M football games.

Prior to serving in Trump’s cabinet, Howard Lutnick held the positions of CEO and president at the financial services company Cantor Fitzgerald. He climbed the corporate ladder at this firm, starting out as a young broker in 1983.

As a devoted adherent, I was deeply impacted by the tragic event that occurred on September 11, 2001, when one of the hijacked planes struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center, a New York-based company’s headquarters. Unfortunately, we lost 658 of our team members in this devastating terrorist attack.

For thirty-five consecutive days, Lutnick attended twenty funerals each day, due to the fact that his brother Gary was among the deceased. This left him unable to attend some of his closest friends’ funerals on certain occasions. On one particular day, the funeral services for both the brother of his best friend and his college roommate’s brother were taking place at the same time, forcing Lutnick to split his time between them. In this situation, his wife attended one funeral while he went to the other.

Inquired about his method of progressing, he responded by likening it to riding a surfboard on a massive wave. He added that if one were to glance back, the wave could potentially overtake them, possibly rendering him incapable of functioning.

Lutnick has four children with wife Allison Lambert.

Lori Chavez-DeRemer held the position of Mayor of Happy Valley, Oregon from 2011 to 2019. In 2022, she made history by being the first Republican woman elected to Congress from her state.

Despite not being reelected, the Californian born and pro-union individual (daughter of a Mexican-American Teamster father) remains open to potential service in Trump’s second term administration.

Chavez-DeRemer is the mother of twin daughters with her longtime partner, Dr. Shawn DeRemer, whom she has been married to for 33 years as of 2024. On their anniversary, she expressed on Instagram that the passing years seem quick because they are dedicated to a ‘remarkable love’ that consistently proves valuable and worth defending.

In less than two weeks following her confirmation as Labor Secretary on March 11, 2025, the DeRemers welcomed grandchildren into their family.

Previously loyal Democratic figure, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., endorsed Donald Trump, following the decline of his own 2024 presidential campaign aspirations.

One of Robert F. Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy’s 11 children, an environmental lawyer who is currently leading the “MAHA” (Make America Healthy Again) movement, has garnered more attention in recent times for expressing doubts about vaccine safety and psychotropic drugs, which has sometimes caused friction within his own family.

In contrast, Kerry Kennedy, sister to Kerry, harshly criticized his attempt to dishonor their father’s legacy by supporting Trump, labeling it “inexplicable.” On the other hand, Caroline Kennedy, a cousin, penned an open letter in January 2025, branding him as a “predator,” and urged the Senate not to confirm him for the position of HHS secretary.

In his personal life, Kennedy is a father of six children: Two from his first marriage with Emily Black and four with his late second wife, Mary Richardson, who tragically took her own life in 2012. He has been wedded to actress Cheryl Hines since 2014.

Previously, former NFL player Scott Turner served as a congressman for Texas’ 33rd district from 2013 to 2017. In 2019, he was selected by President Trump to lead the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council.

In a 2016 NFL Player Engagement interview, he shared that his parents and godparents had always encouraged him to help others. They instilled in him the importance of caring for people, working diligently, and having strong faith. He acknowledged it wasn’t simple but emphasized that one must decide to follow this path.

Besides being an entrepreneur and a Baptist pastor, he has been married to his wife Robin Turner since 1995, whom he met during their time together at the University of Illinois. In 2009, they welcomed Scott’s nephew Solomon into their family by adoption. Prior to joining them, Solomon played football at Baylor and Hawaii before earning a spot as a walk-on player at Illinois.

In his conversation with Saturday Tradition in 2022, Solomon expressed gratitude, saying, “Without my uncle and aunt, I’m unsure of where I would be today. They have been more than just father figures to me; they have meant the world to me. Coming here and achieving this, it feels like I’m expressing a heartfelt thank you to them.

Sean Duffy first made a name for himself in 1997 as a housemate on The Real World: Boston.

I am fortunate to be a spouse to Rachel Campos-Duffy, whom I met during our shared journey on Road Rules: All Stars back in 1998. We were blessed with nine beautiful children together after getting married the very next year.

For eight years, Duffy served as the District Attorney in Ashland County, his home state of Wisconsin. From 2011 to 2019, he represented the people in Congress. In August of that year, he stepped down from office due to the health concerns of his unborn ninth child.

Following her birth, it may take anywhere from two to six months for her to require open-heart surgery, as stated on Fox & Friends. This means they’ll need to open her up and perform necessary repairs on her heart,” he clarified.

Duffy remarked, “I have a strong affection for politics, yet my family is my top priority. It’s all about finding the right balance. My work schedule is demanding; I’m in Washington four days a week and then I return home to Rachel.” While traveling throughout his district to interact with people, he stated, “As members of Congress, we sometimes receive a fair share of criticism. We often become the target for jokes.

In the realm of everyday living, I found myself coexisting with individuals who were remarkably distinct from my usual circle, as I shared on NCTA back in May 2019. Initially, these differences between my new housemates seemed glaringly obvious. However, upon departing that shared space, I discovered a surprising amount of common ground between us – far more than I had initially thought.

He likened the situation to negotiating across party lines in Congress: “It’s astounding how much shared ground you can find for collaboration and the variety of agreements you might unexpectedly discover.

Known as an enthusiast in energy matters, Chris Wright, is the creator of Pinnacle Technologies – a company that, based on his Energy Department biography, pioneered the field of mapping related to hydraulic fracturing, also known as fracking.

Prior to being nominated for his cabinet position, he held the role of CEO at Liberty Energy, which is the second biggest hydraulic fracturing firm in the U.S.

Wright, who is deeply fond of being a father and grandfather, enjoys skiing, cycling, rock climbing, and spending time outdoors, as mentioned in his biography, previously resided in Colorado but later moved to Washington D.C., with his partner Liz also known as Liz Wright.

Linda McMahon (born Edwards) tied the knot with her 21-year-old husband Vince McMahon in 1966, following her graduation from high school. Initially planning to become a French teacher, she instead dedicated herself to co-managing the family enterprise, World Wrestling Entertainment, from 1980 until 2009.

McMahon functioned as the Administrator for the Small Business Administration from 2017 to 2019 during Trump’s initial term. Upon his re-election in 2024, this grandmother of six assumed a co-chair role in his transition team and was appointed to lead the U.S. Department of Education – an institution that Trump intends to dismantle.

McMahon expressed strong support for the president’s objective, which aims to devolve education back to the states. He shares the president’s viewpoint that education of the highest quality is most effective when it is close to the student.

Back in November 2024, McMahon’s lawyer confirmed that the ex-WWE executive and her husband had separated while they were still legally married, as reported by the Washington Post. Interestingly, their son Shane McMahon and daughter Stephanie McMahon are both former professional wrestlers, and Paul “Triple H” Levesque, who is Stephanie’s relative through marriage, holds the position of Chief Content Officer at WWE.

Colonel Doug Collins, formerly of the U.S. Air Force Reserve, holds a law degree, served as a representative in the Georgia State House, a member of Congress, and functioned as a military chaplain.

However, as stated in his biography from the VA, he primarily identifies himself as a husband to Lisa, and a father to Jordan, Copelan, and Cameron.

As South Dakota’s Governor since 2019, I, Kristi Noem, was speculated to be among the potential running mates for Trump in 2024. However, my decision to share an incident about shooting our unruly family dog in my memoir “No Going Back” seemingly took me out of contention for this role.

Undeterred by debate, Trump chose Noem, a former congresswoman from 2011 to 2019 who was also a member of the House Armed Services Committee, to lead the Department of Homeland Security. This department safeguards the United States against both domestic and foreign threats.

In 1992, the former South Dakota Snow Queen exchanged wedding vows with Byron Noem, and together they have three offspring.
