Elon Musk Exits Donald Trump Administration After 4 Months

Elon Musk is done with his political duties.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, announced that he would be leaving his position in the administration of former U.S. President Donald Trump, as stated on social media platform X (previously known as Twitter) on May 28.

In his final days serving as a Special Government Employee, he expressed gratitude towards President Trump for providing him with the chance to minimize unnecessary expenditures. He further stated that the DOGE (Dollar-Optimized Government Economy) initiative will grow in significance, eventually becoming an integral part of government operations.

As a diehard fan, I can’t help but express my agreement with Elon Musk’s recent critique of the Republican-supported domestic policy bill. According to NBC News, he believes this bill will inflate our nation’s deficit, and as someone who cares deeply about our financial future, I wholeheartedly echo his concerns.

In a recent interview with CBS’ “Sunday Morning” on June 1, Musk expressed his displeasure at the large spending bill that was passed, which actually expands the budget deficit rather than reducing it. He also stated that this action undermines the efforts of the Dogecoin (DOGE) team.

In March, as reported by NBC News, Trump informed his cabinet that Elon Musk was planning to step down within a few months.

At a closed-door gathering on March 24th, President Trump announced that Elon Musk, who had been heading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) since the start of his term in January, would be returning to the private sector.

During the final moments of their meeting, as cameras rolled in, the 47th president publicly labeled Elon Musk as a “dedicated patriot.

Trump, aged 78, stated through NBC News, “He is a devoted citizen.” He has developed into a confidant of mine. Our friendship grew during my election campaign; it was then that I became acquainted with him. Prior to that, I had only known him a little from his support in my first term, but not intimately. However, he stands out most as a patriot.

Trump also lauded Musk for “never” seeking personal favors.

The former Apprentice contestant emphasized, “He’s never made a request of me, though he could have. I often find myself pondering if he might someday ask for something, but that’s always open to change. If anything changes in the future, you’ll be among the first to know. As of now, Elon has never asked me for anything.

Regarding the reason behind Elon Musk, aged 53, stepping down from his position, Trump hinted that he has other commitments but did not clarify whether the Dogecoin (DOGE) situation was resolved or not.

Trump stated at the March 31 press conference that his associate will eventually return to running his large company because he has a lot on his plate. Trump said he held onto him for as long as possible because he is highly skilled. You know, I admire intelligent individuals, and this person is smart; in fact, he’s shown great competence in his role.

Trump has had Musk’s backing since the campaign trail, even having SpaceX founder by his side at his Inauguration in January. A month later, Musk took his and ex Grimes’ 4-year-old son, X Æ A-Xii Musk, to meet with the president at the White House.

After Trump’s desk was quickly sent out to be re-finished, not long after Musk’s son was found smearing boogers on it, the president only had kind words for the little boy instead.

“He’s a great guy,” Trump said. “High-IQ individual.”

Later on, Grimes, who co-created Exa, 3, and Techno Machanicus, 2 with Musk, expressed that she wasn’t aware of or approved the visit. However, when a fan admired her son’s manners towards X, she replied, “I’m glad he was polite. Sigh.” This indicates a mixed sentiment about the situation.

Certainly, Trump has had Musk’s backing since the election campaign, and they were together during Trump’s Inauguration in January. A month after that, Musk even brought his son, X Æ A-Xii Musk, who is 4 years old and shares his mother with ex Grimes, to meet with the president at the White House.

After Trump’s desk was promptly refinished following the incident where Musk’s son smeared boogers on it, the president could only heap praises on the toddler instead.

“He’s a great guy,” Trump said. “High-IQ individual.”

Later on, Grimes – the mother of Exa, 3, and Techno Machanicus, 2, along with Musk – expressed that she wasn’t aware or approved of the visit. However, when a fan complimented her son’s manners during their interaction, she replied, “I’m glad he was polite. Sigh.” This indicates a mixed response from Grimes about the situation.

Born in Ohio, JD Vance previously delved into venture capitalism. Later, he authored the critically acclaimed 2016 memoir titled “Hillbilly Elegy” and shifted his focus towards politics.

In 2022, a Yale-educated lawyer and former Marine was chosen as the U.S. Senate representative, and within just under two years, he was selected to be the vice presidential candidate for Donald Trump in the 2024 elections.

In his role as Vice President, Vance stands ready to step into the presidency if needed, but moreover, he serves as a crucial tie-breaking vote in the Senate when Republican legislators are evenly split on passing bills.

He has been married to law school sweetheart Usha Vance since 2014 and they share three children.

Previously serving as Senator from Florida, Marco Rubio initially showed strong opposition to Trump during their presidential race in 2016. However, he has now shifted allegiances and supports the policies advocated by his earlier adversary.

The Miami resident, born to Cuban immigrant parents, was the sole and initial nominee for Trump’s second cabinet who gained full approval from the Senate with a unanimous show of bipartisan support, 99-0. At that time, now former Ohio Senator Vance held the one empty seat, allowing Rubio (who was still serving in the Senate) to vote in his own favor.

Rubio (depicted alongside Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly) has been in matrimony with Jeanette Dousdebes, a former cheerleader for the Miami Dolphins, since 1998. They are proud parents to two girls and two boys together.

Scott Bessent boasts over four decades of expertise in international investment management, which encompasses his tenure as the CEO of hedge fund Key Square Capital Management and the role of Chief Investment Officer at Soros Fund Management, associated with prominent Democratic benefactor George Soros.

Apart from that, he imparted knowledge on economic history at his former university, Yale, and, along with his family, initiated the McLeod Rehabilitation Center within the Shriners Children’s Hospital in his native state of South Carolina.

Based on his official biography, they reside part-time in both Washington, D.C., and Charleston, South Carolina, with their two children.

In a specific geographic area and economic status, being gay was not a concern, he stated to the Yale Alumni Magazine in 2015 prior to the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that made same-sex marriage legal across the country. What’s remarkable is now, people throughout America, regardless of their social or professional background, have equal access to opportunities. If you had told me in 1984, when we graduated, and the AIDS epidemic was rampant, that 30 years later I would be legally married with two children conceived through surrogacy, I wouldn’t have believed it.

Pete Hegseth, a veteran in the Army National Guard, had been sharing hosting duties on Fox News’ weekend show, “Fox & Friends Weekend,” since 2017. However, his role changed when President Trump selected him for the position of Defense Secretary.

Initially, several issues such as past debatable comments on diversity and female military service members, a 2017 sexual assault accusation (which he strongly denies), claims of job-related alcohol consumption (also denied), and a 2018 email from his mother (later disavowed by her) labeling him as a woman abuser, posed potential obstacles to his confirmation. However, despite the lack of Democratic support and dissent from three Republicans, he was eventually confirmed by the Senate.

Hegseth is married to Jennifer Rauchet Hegseth, his third wife, and they share a daughter together. Additionally, he has three children with his second ex-wife, Samatha Deering. The couple got married at Trump National Golf Club in Colts Neck, N.J., in 2019.

Following Matt Gaetz’s decision to step back from the nomination due to past scandals, President-elect Trump ultimately chose Pam Bondi, a former Florida Attorney General and a member of his legal team during his initial impeachment trial, as his selection for leading the U.S. Department of Justice instead.

For eighteen years, she worked as a prosecutor for the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office. Later, in 2011, she made history by being appointed Florida’s first female attorney general. Towards the closing stages of her term, she briefly co-hosted the television show “The Five” on Fox News for three days in 2018, which raised some concerns about the ethical implications of hosting while still holding an elected position.

The representative stated to the Tampa Bay Times that she frequently appears on national broadcasts. They added that despite this, she doesn’t receive payment for her hosting duties. It was emphasized that the attorney general is always busy, being reachable around the clock, and continues her work even when away from the state.

Since 2017, Bondi has been in a romantic relationship with John Wakefield, the founding principal of Varner Wakefield Equity Partners. He is a father to three children from a past relationship.

Bondi has been romantically connected to John Wakefield, founder of Varner Wakefield Equity Partners, since 2017. He is the dad of three kids from a prior romance.

2024 presidential aspirant and former supporter of Donald Trump, wealthy software tycoon and investor Doug Burgum, held the position of governor of North Dakota from 2017 until he was chosen to lead the Department of Interior. This department oversees the administration of around 480 million acres of federal territory, focusing on striking a balance between resource extraction and preservation.

Born and raised in the small town of Arthur, North Dakota with just 325 residents, Burgum later studied at North Dakota State University. He also founded a chimney sweep company, which he believes played a significant role in his acceptance into Stanford Business School.

In 2017, I shared with Forbes that my college newspaper published an article featuring me as a chimney sweep, complete with a picture of me perched atop an icy chimney during frigid Fargo weather. The story even made it to the Associated Press wire service. Apparently, it created quite a buzz in the Stanford admissions office.

Burgum is the father of three kids from his previous marriage with Karen Stoker, and he tied the knot with Kathryn Helgaas in the year 2016.

Originally hailing from Glen Rose, Texas, Brooke Rollins earned a degree in agricultural development from Texas A&M University. She later obtained her Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of Texas School of Law.

In the White House during the initial term of the Trump presidency, I served as the Director of the Domestic Policy Council and the Assistant to the President for Strategic Initiatives.

Prior to assuming the role as head of the Department of Agriculture, Rollins previously served as both the CEO and president of the America First Policy Institute – a think tank she initiated in 2021 with the aim of championing Donald Trump’s political policies.

Based on her official profile, she and her husband Mark Rollins typically fill their spare moments in Fort Worth by shuttling their energetic quartet of kids to various activities such as baseball matches, livestock exhibitions, piano classes, and Texas A&M football games.

Prior to his appointment to Trump’s cabinet, Howard Lutnick previously held positions as both CEO and president at the financial services company, Cantor Fitzgerald. He climbed the corporate ladder at this firm, starting out as a young broker in 1983.

Based in New York City, the company tragically suffered the loss of 658 staff members on September 11, 2001, when one of the four hijacked airplanes struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center as a result of terrorist attacks.

For 35 consecutive days in 2006, Lutnick attended twenty funeral services a day, as his brother Gary was among the deceased. This meant that there were instances when he couldn’t attend the funerals of his closest friends. On one particularly difficult day, his best friend’s brother and his college roommate’s brother were being buried at the same time, so Lutnick had to split his mourning, with his wife attending one funeral and him attending the other.

Inquired about his progress, he responded, “I’d liken it to riding a surfboard on a massive wave. If you ever glanced backward, the wave could swallow you up, and I might not be able to carry on as usual.

Lutnick has four children with wife Allison Lambert.

Lori Chavez-DeRemer held the position of Mayor in Happy Valley, Oregon, between the years 2011 and 2019. Later on, she made history by becoming the initial female Republican representative from her state to be elected to Congress in 2022.

Despite failing to secure another term, the Californian, who is a pro-union and a daughter of a Mexican-American Teamster father, remains open to potential service in President Trump’s second term cabinet.

Chavez-DeRemer is a mother of twin daughters, married to her high school sweetheart Dr. Shawn DeRemer. As they celebrate their 33rd wedding anniversary in 2024, she shared on Instagram, “The years pass quickly due to our dedication to a ‘remarkable love’ that consistently proves to be worth every effort.

In less than two weeks following her appointment as Labor Secretary on March 11, 2025, the DeRemers welcomed their first grandchild.

Longtime Democrat Robert F. Kennedy Jr. switched allegiances and endorsed Donald Trump, as his own presidential bid for 2024 appeared to falter.

Among the 11 children of Robert F. Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy, one child – an environmental lawyer – is currently leading the so-called “MAHA” (make America healthy again) movement. In more recent times, this individual has garnered attention for expressing doubts about the safety of vaccines and psychotropic drugs, which has reportedly caused friction within their own family.

In contrast, Kerry Kennedy, sister of the individual in question, criticized his attempt to dishonor their father’s legacy by endorsing Trump, labeling it as “inexplicable” and “desecration”. On the other hand, Caroline Kennedy, a cousin, referred to him as a “predator” in a public letter penned in January 2025, imploring the Senate not to confirm him for the position of HHS secretary.

On a personal level, Kennedy is the father of six children: Two from his first marriage to Emily Black and four with his late second wife Mary Richardson, who tragically took her own life in 2012. He has been wedded to Cheryl Hines, an actress known for her role in Curb Your Enthusiasm, since 2014.

As a dedicated follower, I had the privilege of serving as the representative for Texas’ 33rd district in Congress from 2013 to 2017. Then, in 2019, an honor was bestowed upon me when President Trump appointed me as director of the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council.

He shared during an NFL Player Engagement interview in 2016 that his parents and godparents had always encouraged him to help others. They instilled in him the importance of caring for people, working diligently, and maintaining strong faith…It’s not always simple, but you have to decide in your mind that this is what you’re going to do.

Apart from being an entrepreneur and a Baptist pastor, he has been married to his wife Robin Turner, whom he met at the University of Illinois, since 1995. In 2009, they welcomed Scott’s nephew, Solomon, into their family. Prior to joining them, Solomon played football at Baylor and Hawaii before earning a spot as a walk-on at Illinois.

Solomon shared with Saturday Tradition in 2022 that without his uncle and aunt, he’d likely be at a loss as to where he is today. In simpler terms, these two individuals have been instrumental in his life, serving as a father figure, and the fact they helped him get here makes it all the more meaningful. It feels like paying them back for their support by being here and achieving this, much like saying thank you.

Sean Duffy first made a name for himself in 1997 as a housemate on The Real World: Boston.

He has nine children with Rachel Campos-Duffy, whom he met while competing on Road Rules: All Stars in 1998. They got married the very next year.

For eight years, Duffy held the position of Ashland County District Attorney in his native state of Wisconsin. Later, he served in Congress from 2011 to 2019. In August of that year, he stepped down from his role due to the health concerns of his unborn ninth child.

He clarified on Fox & Friends that if a baby is born, she might require open-heart surgery within the first two to six months of life. To put it simply, they would have to perform a procedure where they open up her chest to repair her heart.

Duffy commented, “I have a deep affection for politics, yet my family is my top priority. It’s all about finding the right balance. The work schedule can be incredibly demanding. I’m in Washington four days a week, and then I return home to Rachel.” While navigating his district and interacting with the community, he noted, “we, as members of Congress, often face some tough criticism. We seem to be a popular target for ridicule.

In an interview with NCTA back in May 2019, he shared that his experience on The Real World required him to share a living space with individuals who were quite dissimilar from himself. Initially, upon arrival, he observed the vast contrasts between himself and his roommates. However, upon departing, he discovered that he had far more commonalities with them than he initially thought.

He found it astonishing that, despite the differences, so much collaborative legislation could be achieved, and just how many areas of agreement there were.

As a self-proclaimed energy enthusiast, Chris Wright serves as the founder of Pinnacle Technologies, a company that, based on his biography from the Energy Department, pioneered the field of hydraulic fracturing mapping – often referred to as fracking.

Prior to being nominated for his cabinet position, he had previously held the role of CEO at Liberty Energy, which ranks as the second-largest hydraulic fracturing company in the U.S.

According to his biography, he was a dedicated father, grandfather, skier, cyclist, mountaineer, and nature lover. His wife, Liz Wright, previously resided in Colorado but later moved to Washington D.C.

Linda McMahon, formerly known as Edwards, tied the knot with her 21-year-old husband, Vince McMahon, in 1966, a year after she graduated from high school. Despite initially pursuing a career as a French teacher, she ultimately found herself jointly managing the family enterprise, World Wrestling Entertainment, from 1980 until 2009.

McMahon held the position of Administrator for the Small Business Administration from 2017 to 2019 during Trump’s initial term. When he got re-elected in 2024, this six-grandmother became a co-chair for his transition team and was chosen to lead the U.S. Department of Education – a department that Trump intends to dissolve.

McMahon expressed strong support for the president’s initiative, aimed at devolving education back to the individual states. He shares the president’s perspective that the most effective education is provided in a setting close to the student.

In November 2024, it was confirmed through the Washington Post that while legally married, McMahon and her husband were already separated, as stated by McMahon’s attorney. Notably, their son Shane McMahon and daughter Stephanie McMahon are both former professional wrestlers, with Paul “Triple H” Levesque serving as the chief content officer of WWE, who is also Stephanie’s son-in-law.

Colonel Doug Collins, a member of the United States Air Force Reserve, has a background as a lawyer, a former representative in the Georgia State House, a congressman, and a military chaplain.

However, as stated in his Veterans Affairs biography, he primarily identifies himself as a husband to Lisa, a father to Jordan, and the father of boys named Copelan and Cameron.

Currently serving as Governor of South Dakota since 2019, Kristi Noem has been speculated to be among the potential running mates for Trump in 2024. However, this possibility seemed to diminish following her account of shooting her family’s misbehaving dog in her memoir titled “No Going Back.

Despite facing controversy, Trump selected Kristi Noem, a former Congresswoman (2011-2019) who was also part of the House Armed Services Committee, as the new head of the Department of Homeland Security. This department is tasked with safeguarding the United States from both domestic and foreign threats.

In 1992, the former South Dakota Snow Queen exchanged vows with Byron Noem, and together they have raised three offspring.
