There’s new fodder for anyone who’s been following Elon Musk’s Path of Exile 2 (PoE2) saga.

On the weekend, it was reported that Musk abruptly ended a live stream of Path of Exile 2, after approximately half an hour due to audience members relentlessly mocking him as he kept dying against the initial boss in the game. According to Futurism, this was the reason for his departure.

According to a post by @DevinDtv on X (previously known as Twitter), Elon Musk angrily left his Twitter feed following multiple defeats against a tutorial boss in the latest update of Path of Exile 2 on hardcore mode.

Given that the wealthiest person in the world is known to have been engaged with Path of Exile 2’s Permadeath Hardcore mode for some time, it seems unusual that he would be facing such challenges during the early stages of the game.

During the livestream, while certain remarks were critical of the billionaire’s decisions, others took a more severe and direct approach, targeting him personally.

One commenter repeatedly wrote, “YOU HAVE NO FRIENDS AND YOU WILL DIE ALONE.”

Another wrote, “YOU RUINED THE COUNTRY JUST LIKE YOU RUINED YOUR MARRIAGES.”

Some viewers suggested that Musk should activate the “Do Not Disturb” mode to hide the comments, however, it appears that he decided against this option.

Instead, he allegedly made a disparaging remark and eventually rage-quit the livestream.

In the past couple of months, people’s opinions about Elon Musk have become increasingly critical due to his appointment as a senior advisor in the recently established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

From its beginnings, Doge has led to the dismissal of more than 280,000 federal employees and may also be in breach of the Privacy Act of 1974.

Consequently, many individuals express their anger towards Musk and often look forward to voicing their displeasure during his live broadcasts.

The funny thing is, Musk keeps drawing this negative attention to himself.

If he didn’t boast about his video game skills and subsequently undermine himself through live streaming, it wouldn’t matter to people whether he was skilled or not.

Instead of striving to prove your coolness or gaming skills, Elon, just immerse yourself in the fun of your gameplay. There’s no need to persuade others of your abilities.

First off, you need to know that Musk is supposedly one of the world’s top 20 Diablo 4 players.

Given this, it seems logical that he would aim to demonstrate his skills in Path of Exile 2, another tough role-playing game that, while distinctly unique, shares many similarities with Diablo 4.

This year, Musk boasted that his skill at POE2 earned him a temporary ban from the game due to excessive clicking on his account.

Later on, he broadcasted playing PoE2, a few weeks after. The game’s community began to observe that he was committing quite a few fundamental blunders and noticeable mistakes, which seemed unusual for someone with such an advanced level of expertise in PoE2 (as outlined in this Reddit discussion).

In no time at all, the stream turned against Elon Musk as individuals began claiming that he was using real, dedicated gamers for payment, to boost his in-game character levels, instead of playing and advancing on his own.

A short while later, the billionaire clarified that he had never boasted about self-progressing his characters in PoE2. Instead, he explained that high-tier accounts in Diablo or Path of Exile often need several players collaborating on an account to succeed in a leveling competition.

Sure, Musk. That makes it so much better.

It appears that cash may grant you a top-tier PoE2 account, but it won’t provide the ability to truly excel in gameplay.

While money might secure a superior PoE2 account for you, it can’t bestow the talent necessary to play effectively.
