Elon Musk Says President Trump Would’ve Lost the Election Without Him

Elon Musk is clapping back.

Following President Donald Trump’s statement that he was “extremely disappointed” with him since his departure from the administration, the CEO of Tesla criticized the politician for showing “such ungratefulness,” suggesting that he should receive recognition for the potential outcome of the 2024 presidential election.

“Without me,” Musk wrote on X June 5, “Trump would have lost the election.”

Moreover, the tech magnate asserted that he played a significant role in the victory of Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance over Democratic contenders Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.

53-year-old Musk claimed to have played a role in helping the Republican party secure a majority in both legislative houses. He suggested that if he hadn’t been involved, Democrats would have controlled the House of Representatives, and the Senate’s balance would have been 51-49 instead of the current Republican advantage.

Moreover, although Trump did not immediately address Musk’s comments about the election, he later offered additional explanations on why their political alliance disintegrated.

Elon was acting increasingly agitated,” the former Apprentice contestant posted on Truth Social on June 5. “I requested him to step down, I removed his electric vehicle mandate that made people buy electric cars against their will (which he knew I planned to do for months!), and he simply lost control!

Just prior to the election-related allegations against Musk, Trump expressed his current stance with the SpaceX founder following Trump’s departure from his role as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). He stated that in his view, the bond between them might not sustain over time.

Trump shared with reporters in the Oval Office on June 5, just before meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, that he and Elon had a fantastic relationship. He added, “I’m not sure we will have one anymore.” (as reported by NBC News)

The politician expressed his discontentment because Elon Musk, who began his involvement with DOGE in January, criticized the proposed tax cuts by his administration shortly after leaving office. To put it simply, he said, “I’m really let down by Elon. I’ve been quite supportive of him.

However, the President added that he anticipated such conduct from Musk, as the latter had acted in a similar hostile manner following his departure from the administration. (104 characters)

Trump stated, “Individuals depart from my team, yet they continue to admire us. Later on, many of them develop such strong feelings of nostalgia for it that some return to support it, while others become critical.

He commented, “Upon waking, the charm has vanished. Everything appears altered, and they grow resentful.

For a closer look at Trump’s cabinet, keep reading.

Originally from Ohio, author JD Vance previously worked in venture capitalism but gained prominence after publishing the highly successful 2016 memoir “Hillbilly Elegy.” Since then, he has shifted his focus towards politics.

As a Yale-educated attorney and ex-Marine, I had the honor of being elected to the U.S. Senate in 2022. Fast forward to just under two years later, I was chosen as Donald Trump’s vice presidential candidate for his 2024 campaign.

In his role as Vice President, Vance stands ready to step up if necessary, providing the decisive vote in case of a tie among Senate Republicans when they’re passing bills into law.

He has been married to law school sweetheart Usha Vance since 2014 and they share three children.

Initially, during the 2016 presidential race, Senator Marco Rubio from Florida was a strong critic of Donald Trump. However, he has subsequently shifted his stance and has come to support the policies that were once opposed by him (Trump’s agenda).

Originating from Miami as a child of Cuban immigrants, this individual became the unique candidate chosen by Trump for his second cabinet who received unanimous bipartisan approval by the Senate, with a score of 99-0. At that time, Rubio, who was still serving in the Ohio Senate, had the opportunity to vote for himself.

Ever since 1998, I’ve been proudly walking hand in hand with my beloved wife, Jeanette Dousdebes, who once graced the sidelines of the Miami Dolphins as a cheerleader. Together, we’ve built a beautiful family of four daughters and sons that I cherish deeply. And now, here I am, standing alongside Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly, feeling the warmth of our shared connections and passions.

Scott Bessent boasts a 40-year career in international investment management, which encompasses his tenure as the CEO of hedge fund Key Square Capital Management and the role of Chief Investment Officer at Soros Fund Management, associated with prominent Democratic donor George Soros.

Apart from that, he imparted knowledge on economic history at his former university, Yale, and together with his family, they founded the McLeod Rehabilitation Center within the Shriners Children’s Hospital in their home state, South Carolina.

Based on his official biography, he shares his time between Washington, D.C., and Charleston, S.C., with his husband and their two children.

As a lifestyle expert looking back on the evolution of societal norms, I can confidently say that in certain regions and economic spheres, accepting individuals for their sexual orientation has never been an issue. Fast-forwarding to 2015, just before the U.S. Supreme Court’s historic decision legalizing same-sex marriage nationwide, I was thrilled to see this change ripple across America. It’s truly remarkable that today, whether someone is blue collar or white collar, they have equal access to opportunities. If you had told me in 1984, during the peak of the AIDS crisis and our graduation from Yale, that I would one day be legally married and blessed with two beautiful children through surrogacy, I wouldn’t have dared to believe it. The progress we’ve made is nothing short of inspiring.

Pete Hegseth, a former Army National Guard veteran, had been working as the weekend co-host for Fox News’ show “Fox & Friends Weekend” since 2017. However, President Trump selected him for the position of Defense Secretary.

In the face of past contentious remarks concerning diversity and military servicewomen, a 2017 sexual assault allegation (which he has adamantly refuted), claims of on-the-job drinking (also rejected), and a 2018 email from his mother (later disavowed) that labeled him as a woman abuser, Hegseth’s confirmation faced potential derailment. However, he managed to secure confirmation by the Senate with no Democratic votes and three Republican dissenters.

Eric Hegseth is married to Jennifer Rauchet Hegseth, a former producer from Fox & Friends, and they have one daughter together. Previously, he has three children with his second ex-wife Samatha Deering. The couple got married at Trump National Golf Club in Colts Neck, New Jersey, in 2019.

After Rep. Matt Gaetz, who was embroiled in scandals, chose to step aside from the nomination process, the president-elect ultimately selected Pam Bondi, a former Florida Attorney General and part of his defense team during the first impeachment trial, to head the U.S. Department of Justice instead.

She worked as a prosecutor for 18 years at the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office and was subsequently appointed Florida’s first female attorney general in 2011. Toward the end of her term, she temporarily co-hosted Fox News’ “The Five” for three days in 2018, which raised questions about ethical conduct while holding an elected position.

The representative mentioned to the Tampa Bay Times that she frequently appears on national news broadcasts. They added that despite her hosting position, she doesn’t receive payment for it. Furthermore, they emphasized that the attorney general is always busy, accessible around the clock, and continues working even when away from the state.

Since the year 2017, Bondi has been in a romantic relationship with John Wakefield, who is the founding principal of Varner Wakefield Equity Partners. John Wakefield and Bondi have been together for four years now. He has three children from a past relationship.

2024 presidential prospect who initially backed Trump but later switched allegiances, wealthy software tycoon and venture capitalist Doug Burgum, previously served as the governor of North Dakota from 2017 until he was appointed to lead the Department of Interior. This department oversees the administration of approximately 480 million acres of federal land, striking a balance between resource extraction and preservation.

Grew up in the minuscule hamlet of Arthur, N.D., with just 325 souls, I was the kid next door. Attending North Dakota State University was my stepping stone, but it was my chimney sweeping business that truly opened doors for me – specifically, the one to Stanford’s prestigious business school.

Back in 2017, when I shared my remarkable tale of being a chimney sweep with Forbes, they ran a captivating piece accompanied by a chilling photograph of me perched atop an icy chimney in Fargo’s frosty weather. This story, it seems, made quite the ripples, as it was picked up by the Associated Press and spread far and wide. I later learned that it stirred quite a buzz in the Stanford admissions office, leaving them both intrigued and impressed, I daresay!

Burgum has three kids with his former spouse, Karen Stoker, and tied the knot with Kathryn Helgaas in 2016.

Or simply:

Burgum shares three children with ex-wife Karen Stoker and married Kathryn Helgaas in 2016.

Originally hailing from Glen Rose, Texas, Brooke Rollins holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural development from Texas A&M University and earned her Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of Texas School of Law.

In the White House, during President Trump’s first term, she held the positions of Director of the Domestic Policy Council and Advisor to the President for Strategic Matters.

Prior to her appointment as the head of the Department of Agriculture, Rollins previously served as both CEO and president at the America First Policy Institute, a research organization she established in 2021 with the purpose of advocating for former President Trump’s political ideologies.

As per her official biography, she and her spouse Mark Rollins typically fill their leisure hours in Fort Worth by ferrying their energetic quartet of kids to baseball matches, livestock exhibitions, piano classes, and Texas A&M football events.

Prior to becoming part of Trump’s administration, Howard Lutnick held the positions of CEO and president at the financial services company, Cantor Fitzgerald. He climbed his way up the ladder within the firm, starting out as a broker when he was hired in 1983.

The company based in New York City sadly suffered the loss of 658 employees on September 11, 2001, as a result of one of the four hijacked planes crashing into the North Tower of the World Trade Center during terrorist attacks.

For 35 consecutive days in the year 2006, Lutnick attended twenty funerals each day, as his brother Gary was among the deceased. This meant that there were instances when he couldn’t attend the funerals of some of his closest friends. On a particularly difficult day, both his best friend’s brother and his college roommate’s brother were being buried at the same time, so his wife attended one funeral while he went to the other.

Inquired about his progress, he replied, “I’d compare it to riding a surfboard on a massive wave. If you ever glanced back, the wave could knock you off balance, and I might struggle to keep going.

Lutnick has four children with wife Allison Lambert.

Lori Chavez-DeRemer held the position of mayor for Happy Valley, Oregon, from 2011 until 2019, after which she made history by being the first female Republican representative from her state elected to Congress in 2022.

Despite failing to secure another term, the Californian native (who is also a pro-union daughter of a Mexican-American Teamster father) now has an opportunity to serve in President Trump’s second term cabinet.

Chavez-DeRemer is the mother of twin daughters with her husband from high school, Dr. Shawn DeRemer. As they celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary in 2024, she expressed on Instagram, “Time passes quickly because we remain dedicated to a ‘remarkable love’ that continues to be worth every effort.

In less than two weeks following her confirmation as Labor Secretary on March 11, 2025, the DeRemers welcomed grandchildren into their family.

In a surprising move, longtime Democrat Robert F. Kennedy Jr., whose presidential bid didn’t gain traction in 2024, expressed his backing for Donald Trump instead.

Among the 11 children of Robert F. Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy, it’s their third child who has gained attention in recent times due to his skepticism regarding the safety of vaccines and certain psychiatric medications. This has led to friction within his own family, as he has been a prominent figure in questioning these practices.

In a stark contrast, while sister Kerry Kennedy criticized his attempt to dishonor their father’s legacy by supporting Trump, cousin Caroline Kennedy labeled him a “predator” in a January 2025 open letter appealing to the Senate not to approve him as the HHS secretary.

In his personal life, Kennedy is a father of six. He has two children from his first marriage to Emily Black, and four kids with his late second wife Mary Richardson, who tragically took her own life in 2012. Since 2014, he has been married to Cheryl Hines, known for her role in ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’.

Previously, football player Scott Turner served as a representative for Texas’ 33rd congressional district from 2013 until 2017. In 2019, he was appointed director of the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council by President Trump.

He shared in a 2016 NFL Player Engagement interview that his parents and godparents had always encouraged him to help others. They instilled in him the importance of caring for people, working diligently, and having strong faith…It’s not an easy task, but he decided it was something he would commit himself to.

Besides being an entrepreneur and a Baptist pastor, he has been married to his wife Robin Turner, a fellow University of Illinois alum, since 1995. In the year 2009, the duo adopted Scott’s nephew Solomon, who had previously played football at Baylor and Hawaii, and later joined the team at Illinois as a walk-on student.

In his interview with Saturday Tradition in 2022, Solomon expressed gratitude by saying, “Without my uncle and aunt, I’m not sure where I would find myself today. To me, they are more than just family; they’ve been my guiding stars. It’s a profound joy for me to be able to attend this university and contribute in some small way, as if I were repaying them with a heartfelt thank you.

Sean Duffy first made a name for himself in 1997 as a housemate on The Real World: Boston.

Together with Rachel Campos-Duffy, whom he encountered during ‘Road Rules: All Stars’ in 1998 and wedded the next year, he has a family of nine children.

For eight years, Duffy held the position of Ashland County District Attorney, right here in his native Wisconsin. From 2011 until 2019, he represented the people in Congress. In August of that year, he chose to step down from office due to the health concerns of his unborn ninth child.

He clarified on Fox & Friends that shortly after birth, within a span of two to six months, she will require open-heart surgery. In simpler terms, they will need to operate on her heart to make necessary repairs.

Duffy expressed, “I have a deep affection for politics, yet my family is my top priority. It’s all about finding the balance. The timetables are demanding. I spend four days in Washington D.C., and then I return to Rachel.” While touring his constituency and interacting with people, he commented, “As members of Congress, we take some hits. We’re often the target for criticism.

In an interview with NCTA in May 2019, he shared that his experience on “The Real World” required him to reside with individuals who were unlike him. Initially, upon arrival, he noticed the significant disparities between himself and his roommates. However, upon departing, he recognized that he had far more commonalities with them than he initially thought.

He found it astonishing that, much like navigating the aisles in Congress, it turns out there’s an impressive amount of bills you can collaborate on and surprising number of shared viewpoints you discover.

In a nutshell, I am Chris Wright, a self-proclaimed enthusiast when it comes to harnessing energy in innovative ways. As the visionary behind Pinnacle Technologies, my company is recognized for having pioneered the field of hydraulic fracture mapping – a significant milestone often referred to as fracking mapping.

Prior to being nominated for his cabinet position, he held the role of CEO at Liberty Energy, which is the U.S.’s second-biggest hydraulic fracturing (fracking) corporation.

Wright, who is deeply fond of being a father and grandfather, enjoys skiing, cycling, rock climbing, and spending time outdoors, as stated in his biography, previously resided in Colorado but later moved to Washington D.C., alongside his partner Liz Wright.

Linda McMahon (formerly known as Edwards) tied the knot with her husband Vince McMahon when she was 17 years old in 1966, following her graduation from high school. Despite initially pursuing a career as a French teacher, she eventually became a joint manager of the family enterprise, World Wrestling Entertainment, from 1980 until 2009.

During Donald Trump’s first term from 2017 to 2019, I had the honor of serving as Administrator for the Small Business Administration. Fast-forwarding to 2024, when President Trump was reelected, I found myself once again in a significant role – this time as a co-chair for his transition team and eventually chosen to lead the U.S. Department of Education. As you may know, Trump aims to dismantle this department.

McMahon expressed strong support for the president’s goal of devolving education back to the individual states. He shares the president’s viewpoint that the most effective education happens when it’s tailored closest to each child.

In November 2024, it was confirmed by McMahon’s lawyer that the former WWE executive and her husband were separated while they were still legally married. This information was reported by the Washington Post. Notably, their son Shane McMahon and daughter Stephanie McMahon are both former professional wrestlers. Additionally, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, who is their son-in-law, serves as the chief content officer for WWE.

Colonel Doug Collins, formerly of the U.S. Air Force Reserve, is a legal professional with prior experience as a representative in the Georgia State House, a member of Congress, and a military chaplain.

However, as stated in his Veterans Affairs biography, he primarily identifies himself as a husband to Lisa, father to Jordan, and father to sons Copelan and Cameron.

As governor of South Dakota since 2019, Kristi Noem had been speculated to be among the potential running mates for Trump in 2024. However, her candidacy seemed to have been affected when she recounted in her memoir “No Going Back” about having shot her family’s misbehaving dog.

Undeterred by debate, Trump chose Noem – a former congresswoman who served from 2011 to 2019 and was part of the House Armed Services Committee – to lead the Department of Homeland Security. This department is tasked with safeguarding the United States against both internal and external dangers.

In 1992, the former South Dakota Snow Queen exchanged wedding vows with Bryon Noem, and together they have three offspring.
