Today, Nixxes Software, Sony’s internal studio responsible for PC ports, has issued two updates aimed at minimizing the frequency of crashes experienced by players in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The game’s PC version, released just last week, was met with technical issues, including frequent crashes that left many users frustrated. Some reported their game crashing every 20 to 30 minutes, but these updates are intended to rectify the problem.
The patch notes for hotfix v1.202.0.0 are as follows:
- Various crash fixes and stability improvements.
- Fixed a bug that could cause Achievements not being awarded on some configurations.
- Triangle and Square button prompts are now displayed correctly when using a DualShock 4 controller with Steam Input enabled.
- Resolved a frame rate related bug that could block players during the mission ‘Show Me New York’.
Over the weekend, the newly released PC edition of Sony’s latest spin-off failed to generate significant buzz in the gaming community. The game peaked at around 28,000 simultaneous players, which is significantly lower than the original game’s player count when it was initially launched on PC. Although player numbers don’t always reflect actual sales, it seems unlikely that the PC version has outperformed the sales figures suggested by SteamDB.
