Hush little baby, don’t you cry, everything’s gonna be alright—Eminem as a grandfather, presumably.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that the daughter of the renowned “Mockingbird” rapper, Hailie Jade, has announced the arrival of her first child with husband Evan McClintock. Their little bundle of joy goes by the name Elliot Marshall McClintock, a touching homage to the rapper, whose real name is Marshall Mathers.
In a sweet Instagram caption on April 4th, Hailie wrote, “Three weeks of life on Earth for our little one!
The news emerged six months following when Hailie made a significant revelation in her father’s music video for his song “Temporary,” which featured Skylar Grey. This poignant track, dedicated to Hailie, was unveiled as part of the 15-time Grammy winner’s album titled “Death of Slim Shady” on July 13.
In the touching music video, sweet childhood clips of Hailie were displayed when Eminem expressed his sentiment that he would continue to be by his daughter’s side even beyond his life.
Towards the conclusion of the music video, I, at 28 years old, found myself seated beside my musician father, presenting him with a Detroit Lions jersey emblazoned with “#1 Grandpa” and a sonogram showcasing the growth of our upcoming bundle of joy. The moment was met with obvious shock on Eminem’s face as he turned to face the camera, gaping in awe.
The music video contained exclusive clips of Hailie’s upcoming wedding to Evan in May 2024, which included a heartfelt moment of the 51-year-old brushing away tears upon seeing his bride for the first time before escorting her towards the altar.
Last February, I took the leap and proposed to my long-time partner, a renowned podcaster. This moment came six years after we first started dating. In Hailie’s podcast, “Just a Little Shady,” I shared an intriguing detail: I sought the blessing of the “Houdini” rapper during the holiday season, which incidentally includes Hailie’s birthday on Christmas Day. As I wanted to maintain discretion about this special event, I had to find the perfect moment to discuss it with the talented wordsmith.
Evan mentioned that as he saw his dad head downstairs, he realized he needed to act immediately or postpone the task until another day. Fortunately, his father was only in the basement, preparing your birthday cake.
As a die-hard fan, it’s no surprise to anyone that I hold a special bond with Hailie, one of Eminem’s three daughters from his relationship with Kim Scott. In the final moments of the “Temporary” music video, a heartfelt note penned by Hailie herself catches my eye.
The message said, “Son, I’ve had this card for a few years now and it feels right to give it to you now,” it read. “Thank you for everything you do and being there for all of us girls. You are the greatest dad anyone could ask for. Love you forever, and more than that – love you forever and ever.” [Love], Bean.

Kimberly Ann Scott, who hails from Michigan, was once Eminem’s high school girlfriend. In 1995, they became parents to their daughter, Hailie Jade.
Kim was married to the rapper from 1999 to 2001, and for a short time in 2006 as well. Their stormy relationship has been mentioned in various songs by Eminem, such as “’97 Bonnie & Clyde,” “Vomit” and “Bad Spouse.
In a 2007 interview with 20/20, Kim expressed that there seemed to be a recurring trend in their relationship. They explained, “We manage to stay together for about two good years, but then something happens and it goes downhill. It’s as if we have a self-imposed two-year limit, and we hadn’t even reached those two years yet. I didn’t want to hastily commit before the two years were up.
However, Kim noted that Eminem has always been an “excellent” father.
“He loves the kids very much,” she shared. “He’s always lending a helping hand.”
On Christmas Day, 1995, rapper Eminem and his partner Kim gave birth to their daughter, Hailie. As the musician shared, this event served as a significant reminder for him to focus and work hard.
In a conversation with Q magazine back in 2001, he shared that everything he was engaged in at the moment was all about Hailie. He explained that any funds accumulated were intended for her college education.
She primarily grew up under the expansive 15,000-square-foot roof of Eminem’s home in Detroit suburbs during her teenage years. Later, she pursued a degree in psychology at Michigan State University where she encountered her future spouse, Evan McClintock. They tied the knot in May 2024, having become engaged a year prior.
Eminem expressed his satisfaction during an episode of Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson in 2020, stating that Hailie, who is now known as Hailie Jade and is an influencer, graduated from college with a remarkable GPA of 3.9. He definitely made him feel proud.
In October 2024, Hailie announced her pregnancy with her and Evan’s first child, a baby boy.
Born on Feb. 22, 1993, Alaina is the daughter of Kim’s sister Dawn Scott.
In the early 2000s, Eminem took custody of his niece due to challenges his sister faced with addiction. As stated in Rolling Stone magazine in 2004, the “8 Mile” star commented, “I have full custody of my niece and joint custody of Hailie.” Since her birth, my niece has been an integral part of my life, and she lived with us wherever we resided. Essentially, Kim and I raised her together.
Growing up primarily under Eminem’s care, the Oakland University graduate refers to him as her father and chose to have him walk her down the aisle during her wedding to Matt Moeller in June 2023.
After the wedding ceremony, where she stood as the Maid of Honor, she shared with People that she wouldn’t have wanted to miss it. She expressed her gratitude, saying that none of this special moment could have happened without her father. She feels truly fortunate.
Her mother passed away in 2016 at the age of 41.
On April 16, 2002, Kim warmly received Stevie, who was then dating Eric Hartter. Later in 2005, Eminem officially made Stevie a part of his family after reconciling with Kim and legally adopting him.
In August 2021, Stevie publicly acknowledged their nonbinary identity in a TikTok post, expressing that they are comfortable with any set of personal pronouns.
They added in the caption, “forever growing and changing.”
Born in 1955 at a military base in Kansas, Debbie is the mother of Eminem.
In her 2008 memoir, “My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem”, she shared that she got married to the father of the artist known as “Without Me”, which is Marshall Bruce Mathers Jr., when she was only 15 years old. Sixteen months later, she became pregnant with Eminem and subsequently moved to Michigan, a place where her maternal grandmother resided.
The troubled relationship between Debbie and Eminem has been highlighted in numerous songs of his, such as the 2002 hit “Cleaning Out My Closet.” In this song, he claimed that Debbie had a history of abusing prescription drugs during his youth, a charge she refuted in her autobiography.
As a life coach, I’d rephrase it like this: “No caring mother desires to be labeled as someone dependent on medication and alcohol, living off public aid. However, the untruths I spoke grew larger, leading to a distance between me and Marshall.
Nevertheless, Eminem later showed remorse for exposing his family matters. In his 2013 track “Headlights”, he rhymed, “I plunged headlong without considering who or what I might have harmed / In that verse, my mother likely took the brunt of it.
Nelson died at the age of 69 in 2024 following a battle with cancer.
