Emmerdale airs shock Ruby discovery in early ITV release – will she plot revenge?

As a long-time fan of Emmerdale, I must say that Wednesday’s episode was a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Ruby Fox-Miligan’s storyline has always resonated with me, given my own experiences with estranged family members. The revelation about Helen’s last words and Caleb’s deception has added another layer of complexity to Ruby’s character.

“A heads-up before diving in: The Emmerdale episode from the 16th of October, 2024, now streaming on ITVX, unveils significant plot points. Proceed with caution if you don’t want the surprises spoiled!”

In the recent episode of Emmerdale, Ruby Fox-Miligan (portrayed by Beth Cordingly), received an unexpected revelation that left her stunned.

Ruby, who was upset after getting her mother Helen’s ashes in the mail, threw them away and then sought comfort at the Woolpack with her relative Chas Dingle.

While Chas shared heartfelt memories about her late uncle Zak (Steve Halliwell), Ruby was reminded of her mother’s spiteful actions. Yet, Chas made it clear that Helen had expressed a desire to see Ruby, as she had contacted the hospital before her demise.

Chas suggested that Ruby should talk to the nurses who looked after her mother, so Ruby went up to the nurse who had informed her about her mother’s passing.

When Ruby enquired about her mother’s final remarks, the nurse clarified that Helen frequently mentioned Ruby, and her husband had pledged to bring Ruby by for a visit!

Returning home, Ruby sought a confession from Caleb, yet he refused to admit anything. However, when Ruby directly challenged him, he eventually admitted that he had gone to see Helen for the sake of protecting Ruby.

Ruby angrily expressed to Caleb that he had just explained her own mother’s demise to her in a condescending manner, which she referred to as mansplaining. In a fury, she asked him to leave the house, stating emphatically that their relationship was over for good – but can one truly close the book on this situation?

Ruby remains unaware that Caleb swindled Helen out of a sum of £100,000 under false pretenses, promising her the chance to meet her daughter. Tragically, Helen passed away before reconciling with Ruby.

When Ruby inevitably uncovers Caleb’s manipulative actions, will she be out for revenge?

We can certainly see Ruby making Caleb pay, but just how will she do so?
