As a long-time fanatic of Emmerdale who has witnessed the rise and fall of many a character, I must say that the return of Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) has stirred quite the intrigue within me. Having followed the tumultuous relationship between Joe and Kim Tate (Claire King), I can’t help but feel a shiver down my spine at the prospect of their reunion.
It was disclosed today that Joe Tate is the mastermind behind the plot Peter and Will have been working on to bring down Kim Tate.
As a film enthusiast, let me rephrase that for you: I’ve always found it tough to agree on things with Kim, and now that I’m back in the picture, she might want to keep a close eye on her own well-being.
Additionally, tomorrow’s special forward-jumping scene airs on Christmas Day, revealing that Home Farm is destroyed. However, the question remains, will Kim make it through this catastrophe?
And what has Joe been plotting this time? Is he only after Kim?
Concerning his upcoming return, Porteous stated: “I’m thrilled to be going back to Emmerdale! Joe has some lingering matters to address, and it seems fitting that he should reappear now. Joe is a complex character with a hidden side, but it appears there may be something even more significant happening. It seems Joe has returned for a specific purpose, and the turmoil at Home Farm is merely the start of a larger narrative. This winter season, viewers can anticipate some spectacular events!
Laura Shaw, the producer, remarked: ‘We’re delighted to have Ned rejoin Village, portraying the enigmatic character Joe Tate. As soon as he appears on screen, it becomes evident that there’s trouble brewing, but what’s more intriguing is the hidden, much darker secret he carries. This secret might set the tone for a spectacular start to 2025.’
Previously, viewers last caught sight of Joe back in October 2018, following an incident where he collided his head onto a stone after getting hit by the character Cain Dingle, portrayed by Jeff Hordley.
As a captivated film critic, I found myself on the edge of my seat during a recent screening, where our protagonist, Joe, seemed to be in grave danger. In a frantic bid for survival, his loyal butler, Graham Foster (played by Andrew Scarborough), hastily bundled him into a vehicle, convinced he’d saved the day. However, as the car sped away, Joe’s hand twitched subtly – a sign that our hero was not yet ready to call it quits.
