In the recent thrilling installment of Emmerdale, it became necessary for Caleb Miligan (played by William Ash) to shield the truth about his father-in-law Anthony Fox’s (portrayed by Nicholas Day) murder.
Wicked Anthony met his end at the hands of his tormented child, Ruby (Beth Cordingly). Later on, his lifeless body was concealed and interred in a forest clearing.
When Steph (Georgia Jay), her daughter, pressed for explanations regarding Anthony’s unexpected vanishing act, Ruby ultimately confessed the shocking details surrounding her own conception and Anthony’s fate.
Steph has been grappling with her sense of self as she confronts her past, while the man who treated her as his daughter, Caleb, is now facing accusations from one of his coworkers at the depot, Jai Sharma. (Chris Bisson plays this character.)
Jai suspects that Anthony’s absence holds more secrets, so he questioned Laurel Thomas, who is estranged from him, about her understanding of the situation. (Written by Miranda Wontroob)
As a movie enthusiast, I was initially led to believe that Anthony was a pedophile, but later learned that it was merely a baseless rumor – however, sadly, the truth was far from it.
In my perspective, once Laurel mentioned that Anthony had retrieved his vehicle and possessions, it seemed there was nothing more to investigate or delve deeper into the matter. That’s how I saw it.
However, when Laurel pointed out that the Fox-Miligan family had a lot more happening beneath the surface, Jai became curious and sought out Steph at work.
Steph appeared noticeably distressed, while Jai pretended to show empathy as he offered a sympathetic ear – all the while eagerly trying to gather the latest news.
As Steph seemed on the verge of sharing something private with Jai, Caleb unexpectedly entered the scene. Alone afterwards, Caleb spun an untrue tale about recent events to Jai instead.
Caleb admitted he orchestrated the burglary at the warehouse to collect insurance money, which Anthony discovered. A confrontation ensued when Caleb allegedly bullied Anthony into departing, and this is said to be the reason behind Steph’s distress.
To put an end to Jai’s doubts permanently, Caleb expressed his intention to come up with a plan to appease Jai, and then cautioned Steph to tread carefully about everything they concealed, since Jai could be cunning and sly.
Has Caleb thrown Jai off the scent?
