As a long-time soap opera follower who has witnessed countless dramatic twists and turns, I must say that the current storyline involving Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) in Emmerdale is quite intriguing. The character’s predicament, finding himself alone in the woods with a mannequin resembling his wife Kim Tate (Claire King), seems to be a classic example of soap opera suspense.
Dean Andrews, who plays the character Will Taylor on Emmerdale, has shared that his character will become frantic upon discovering that his wife, Kim Tate, portrayed by Claire King, has been abducted by an unknown blackmailer.
Because of assisting at the barn fire, Will unfortunately lost the opportunity to settle things with the person who intends to reveal his past relationship with ex-wife Rose Jackson (Christine Tremarco).
After increasing the demand to an astonishing £50,000, the extortionist put Will in a tight spot, prompting him to beg Caleb Miligan (William Ash) for a loan – with the promise of his share in the haulage business as collateral.
It’s a combination of several events occurring simultaneously that leads him to suspect this blackmailer is causing all these issues.
The actor explained that Kim is being held captive, a horse has been stolen, and someone is demanding $50,000 as ransom. Essentially, he’s in a difficult situation and isn’t sure how to proceed.
He becomes quite anxious and overwhelmed by it all, reaching a point where he’s stretched to his limits. He would resort to any solution just to eliminate this issue.
In the forest, he eventually finds himself all by himself, and when he encounters a mannequin resembling his partner incredibly closely, he can no longer maintain his composure!
In simpler terms, “He’s receiving instructions and voices from an unknown source in the forest, which he can’t pinpoint or understand why it’s happening. He didn’t plan on going into the woods, but now he’s hearing various voices that make him feel very anxious.
He has $50,000 in his bag, not sure of what lies ahead once he discovers it, but all he keeps repeating is “I’ve got the money, step out, quit playing games, stop this nonsense, just take the money and leave me be.
Inquired about the person Will believes is responsible for everything, Andrew responded: “I believe he has several [potential suspects] in mind. At one point, I think he thought it might be Caleb.
He merely speculates that the culprit is a resident of the village. As far as I can tell, there are no indications pointing towards any specific individual. The individuals he suspects are Cain and Caleb, folks he’s had disagreements with in the past.
It seems the audience perceives Will as somewhat less intelligent, and it’s likely they hold this view. On the other hand, they seem to admire Kim. If Will encounters difficulties, I believe the audience would find pleasure in witnessing his struggles.
I believe they believe he believes he has a pass to Home Farm without any responsibilities. They might even be pleased that he’s anxious and secretly wish the blackmailers will inform Kim about it. We’ll find out soon!
Could Andrews believe that Will and Kim might be able to get past his infidelity, given that Kim learns about it? He suggested, “Some individuals are capable of forgiving a transgression, while others may not be.
Their connection is quite unconventional; they’re like oil and water but manage surprisingly well. They’ve made up about various matters. If she were to discover this, Will believes that his only chance for reconciliation could be by subtly re-establishing their bond.
Emmerdale airs Monday to Friday at 7:30pm on ITV1. Stream on ITVX.
