In the most recent episode of Emmerdale, Marlon Dingle (played by Mark Charnock) found himself burdened with guilt following an unexpected crisis, which stemmed from his own actions.

Following their daughter April’s plea, they graciously welcomed homeless boy Dylan into their home. April then made efforts to aid Dylan as he navigated his withdrawal from Spice.

But with April’s efforts unappreciated, Marlon was worried that she was taking on too much.

Ross Barton (played by Michael Parr) shared with April about his previous struggle with painkiller dependency, hoping to convince her that Dylan required significantly more assistance than she was able to provide.

However, when Ross made a mistake with his words, April assumed he didn’t care for Dylan at all, and angrily left the scene.

Later on, Rhona found out that some ketamine was stolen from the veterinary clinic. After giving it some consideration, she began to suspect that drug-dependent Dylan might be responsible for the theft.

In a heated response, April demanded her friend search through his pockets to disprove the allegations that were upsetting her parents.

Upon discovering the drug on Dylan, April felt deeply betrayed, her emotions running high. Meanwhile, Dylan vehemently asserted his innocence in response to the accusation.

Marlon pushed Dylan aside initially, yet he didn’t wait too long before revealing the truth to Rhona: he set Dylan up to be blamed, all in an attempt to remove Dylan from April’s presence.

Rhona was horrified, but she could understand why Marlon took such desperate measures.

However, the day became troubling as they discovered that Dylan had ingested an excessive amount and was subsequently admitted to the hospital.

Marlon felt awful that his scheme had led to Dylan’s life being at serious risk, but will the teen survive – and will Marlon own up to his mistake?
